Laundry Day for EFro?

We almost missed Eric Froehlich in the field today. The two-time WSOP bracelet winner is not wearing his usual jersey. With two weeks into the WSOP schedule, we're guessing it is laundry day for the pros that have been here since the start.

Jason Strasser Takes a Nice Pot Early

Jason Strasser raised it up 150 and got three callers. The flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and was checked around. The {2-Hearts} came on the turn, and the player in the big blind bet 250. Strasser raised to 1,200, two players folded, the big blind pushed all-in for 2,200 total and Strasser called. Strasser showed {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} against his opponent's {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. The {7-Spades} came on the river, and Strasser took a nice pot with two pair. After the hand, Strasser had 5,700 in chips.

Are There Stars in This Galaxy?

We may be seeing a trend start to emerge with these "small" buy in No Limit Hold Em events. Yesterday, this reporter noted a slight, but noticable drop in 'big' names in the tournament. This could easily have been attributed to the 5pm H.O.R.S.E. event that many of them were going to play. Today, at least in one walk around the Amazon Room, this is even more noticable. Where you can usually go two or three tables and recognize someone, sometimes today it took me 10.

Make no mistake, there are 'name' players in the room today, but unless they are all out in the tent, or the other rooms that are hosting tables today, there are fewer than one would normally see in one of these events. Maybe day two of the H.O.R.S.E. event is contributing to this.

Breaking Strategy

The floorpeople are using an interesting strategy to break tables today. They break a full row of 6 tables inside, then bring 6 tables in from the players pavillion at one time. They are about to do their third row, which means in a couple minutes, 1/3 of the players out in the tent will have been moved inside.
