Medic Alert

Nenad Medic raised to 600 in early position and another player reraised to 2,000 in late position. Medic went all in and the opponent called. Medic showed {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} to {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} for his opponent. The board ran out {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-?}{8-Diamonds} and Medic is left with only 900 in chips.

Medic is having a tough series so far. Hopefully, he can make it up in a future event. (For those of you that are sarcasm-impaired...)

Check, Please, Table 17

Kathy Liebert just sat down at table 17. Chris Ferguson and David Williams are already there. The rest of the players at that table just saw their chances diminish even further.

A Nasty Turn for Benyamine

Big hand at Table #5 just now. We picked up the action on the turn.

With a board showing {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}, Joe Sebok checked from early position and David Benyamine went all in with his remaining 5,200 chips.

Benyamine showed 5-4 for the straight, but Sebok showed {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} for quads, making the river card meaningless.

Our reporter assures me he got this hand correct, but you might tune in tomorrow to PokerRoad Radio where I'm sure the Cub will help to confirm. Listen in live from 11am-Noon Las Vegas time. Email your questions to [email protected] OR call in your questions live at 877-888-WSOP.

Marco Mixing it Up

Marco Traniello is already mixing it up. A player from middle position limps in the cutoff and Traniello raises to 1,000. The small blind reraises to 2,900 and the middle-position player folds. Traniello goes all in for his last 8,400. The small blind folds and Traniello has 11,700.

Binger Doesn't Play

Clonie Gowen and Michael Binger have a last-longer bet. She's trying to get Phil Laak to bust Binger at his table. "Binger doesn't play so it's hard to bust him," Laak says.

Let's Have Fun with Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth limped from middle position, Toto Leonidas completed from the small blind, and Chris Vaughn checked from the big blind.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. The blinds checked, Hellmuth bet 300 (half of the pot), and only Leonidas called. The turn was the {2-Spades} and both players checked.

The river brought the {4-Spades} and Leonidas led out for 2,000. "Jack-four, right, Toto?" asked Hellmuth. "I lay down ace-king," he said, mucking his cards.

John Juanda then piped up. "You didn't have ace-king," he said. "You would stand up, knock your chair over, and say 'Look what I can fold, baby!'"

The table erupted into laughter, Hellmuth included.

The Richey Get Poorer

A player in late position raised to 600 and Brett Richey reraised to 1,850 on the button. The late-position player called. The flop was {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. The late-position player checked and Richey bet 2,350. The late-position player check-raised all in and Richey folded. He's down to 5,000 -- half the starting stack.
