How's Marco Doing?

Marriage is a wonderful thing. You take care of each other when you're sick. You support each other during the good times. You....check their chip counts?

Jennifer Harman-Traniello just stopped by the PokerNews desk to check on her husband's chip count. First we looked for his chip count in this event until she mentioned that he is in the $1,500 Limit Holdem event. She said, "There's only like seven tournaments going on at one time" as she gave us a grin.

How Are You Baby?

Scotty Nguyen is currently making the rounds of the room catching up with plenty of old buddies playing this event. All that can be heard is a lot of "What's up baby?" and "How are you baby?"

Things Seem to Be Changing

Seven-card stud has had a stigma as of late as being an "old person's game." In most stud tournaments you will find that the average age of the players playing to be somewhere around 50. In today's event, there seems to be a good mix of players of all ages.

You still have your old school stud pro's such as Cyndy Violette, Mickey Appleman and Bill Munley, but in addition there seems to many more younger players in the field. This may be due to the fact that HORSE has become more and more popular amongst players. Another factor maybe be the small field size. The small field size is attractive to the pros looking to either get their first bracelet or to increase their bracelet total.

Large Crowd on the Rail

The large number of pros in the field has certainly attracted the attention of the fans on the rail. Our tables are huddled in a corner of the orange quadrant of the Amazon Room but the fans have soon found their favorite players and are three or four deep on the rail as they catch a glimpse of the action!

Who's the Best According to "The Greek"?

A conversation occurred over on table 11 between Ming Ly and David Gray about who the most famous Asian-American person is. When they mentioned Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets, Archie "The Greek" Karas looked over to Gray and Ly and said, "Who?"

They then proceeded to ask "The Greek" who the best was between Yao Ming, Johnny Chan, and Jackie Chan. Without hesitating Karas said, "Johnny Chan is the best."
