Join us here at 3pm tomorrow when final-table action gets underway in the $10,000 Seven-Card Stud World Championship. We'll have hand-by-hand reports right here on PokerNews.
It was an exciting day of poker here in the Amazon Room as our field of 80 was reduced to a final table of eight world class players.
We lost some big names today including Doyle Brunson, Scotty Nguyen, Greg Raymer and defending champion Chris Reslock. Chad Brown fell just short of the money, with Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey busting out in the early hours of the morning within sight of another WSOP final table berth.
David Oppenheim held the chip lead for most of the day and is expected to carry that lead into the final table when the chips are bagged and sealed. He won't have it easy, with Alexander Kostritsyn, Fu Wong, and Minh Ly lurking close behind, not to forget Erik Seidel who will be out to capture another bracelet after coming back from the dead after being the short stack on the bubble.
We'll be back at 3 p.m. PDT tomorrow for the conclusion of this Championship event and we look forward to your company once again.
The Phil Ivey comeback trail continues. Ivey was just involved in a hand with David Oppenheim. Every street was bet through sixth street. On the river, Ivey bet out showing . Oppenheim called showing . Ivey showed ( ) for the royal flush. After the hand, Ivey is now up to 320,000 in chips.
