"I'm Trying to Bust!"

The multi-tabling Vanessa Selbst
The multi-tabling Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst has been two-tabling the WSOP this afternoon, running back and forth between her stack in the $2,500 NLHE event and her stack here in the ladies event. Selbst has been pushing in almost every hand, in an effort to either run up a huge stack or bust out and be able to turn her attention to her other tournament, which is now in the money.

On one hand, Selbst shoved with {A-Spades} {9-Hearts} and was called by an opponent holding {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs}. {J-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {8-Spades} {2-Hearts} came on the board and she took it down.

On the next hand she open-shoved with {10-Spades} {5-Hearts} from UTG and fortunately found no customers.

On the hand after that, an early position player raised, the button moved all in, and Selbst moved all in from the big blind. The EP player called and showed {A-?} {Q-?}, the button showed {Q-?} {Q-?}, and Selbst rolled over {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts}. The flop was {Q-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}, the turn was the {8-Diamonds}, and the river was the {A-Diamonds}. No one had a diamond and Selbst scooped the whole lot with her queen-high straight. The button, whose queens were cracked, was absolutely devastated after the hand, while Selbst stacked up 24,000 in chips.

Snap!

Angel Pedroza just snapped off {K-?} {K-?} and {A-?} {K-?} with her {Q-?} {Q-?}. All three players were all in preflop and the board ran out {Q-?} {J-?} {J-?} {9-?} {7-?}. The player holding {A-?} {K-?} had made a flush and didn't understand why the pot was being pushed in the other direction until she was informed that Pedroza's queens-full was, in fact, the winning hand.

Pedroza is up to 6,500 in chips.
