Shamseddin Catches a Chop

Before the flop, Soheil Shamseddin raises it up, and Jimmy Fricke makes the call from the small blind.

The first three community cards are {2-Spades} {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}. Fricke checks, and Shamseddin bets. Fricke bumps it up, and Shamseddin makes the call.

The turn card is the {6-Spades}. Fricke bets out, and Shamseddin calls.

Fifth street brings the {4-Clubs}. Again, Fricke bets, and Shamseddin calls, tabling {A-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}.

Fricke blurts out, "God damn!" upset with the chop as he shows down {10-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {A-Clubs}.

Forrest Loses a Big One

We caught this hand on the tail end, with a large number of bets already in the pot. The board showed {Q-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {K-Spades}.

Ralph Perry made one more bet, and Forrest's shoulders dropped. He shook his head and paused for a minute before making the crying call. Perry tabled {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {3-Hearts}, and takes about 80,000 of Forrest's chips as his own.

Enciso Wins Both Halves

We pick up the action here on the flop, with three players seeing the dealer spread {K-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {5-Hearts}. Allan Enciso leads the betting, and Kia Hooshmand and Andrew Brown come along.

The turn is the {8-Spades}. Again, Enciso bets out, and both opponents call.

Fifth street is the {3-Clubs}. Enciso keeps the pressure on with a bet, Hooshmand calls, but Brown ducks out.

Enciso turns over {A-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {K-Hearts}, good enough for the scoop. He has chipped up to 250,000, while Hooshmand has taken a step backwards to 130,000.

Mallory Smith Eliminated in 12th Place ($13,587)

Ralph Rudd comes limping into the pot, and Mallory Smith raises all in for his last 14,000. Andrew Brown calls, Kia Hooshmand does as well, and Rudd comes over the top of the table with a reraise. Both of his live opponents call, and the four men go to the flop.

The first three cards dealt out are {Q-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {10-Hearts}, and action is checked around.

The turn card is the {7-Diamonds}. It checks around to Brown, and this time, he puts in a bet. Hooshmand folds, but Rudd sticks around to the river.

That river card brings the {7-Clubs}, and both men check it down. Smith is at risk, and he tables {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {7-Hearts}. Brown, however, has that beat, showing down {6-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}, and taking the full pot with the straight.

Mallory Smith is sent out earlier than he would have hoped, but he will earn more than $13,000 for his efforts over the last three days.

Jose Paz Eliminated in 13th Place ($11,071)

Ted Forrest limped in, and Jose Paz raised it up from the cutoff seat. Forrest was the only caller, and the two men went heads up to the flop.

The first three community cards were {9-Spades} {6-Clubs} {K-Hearts}. Forrest checked, and Paz moved all in for his last 1,000, called by Forrest. The hands were shown down:

Forrest: {6-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {4-Spades}
Paz: {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {2-Spades}

Paz was at risk, and the {2-Diamonds} and {5-Hearts} that completed the board made a straight for Forrest, and gave him the winning seven low as well. Forrest scooped it up and sent Paz to the rail.
