Paul Magriel Eliminated in 40th ($3,833)

Paul "X-22" Magriel
Paul "X-22" Magriel
Before the flop, Paul "X-22" Magriel raised to 7,000, and Eugene Todd reraised to 20,000 behind him. Magriel thought a moment and called, committing his remaining chips to do so.

Magriel {4-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Todd {5-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

"Oh, you have my hearts, too," said Magriel, as the players stood up to see what the dealer would bring.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Then the {5-Spades} on the turn gave Todd fives full of sixes. Only a king could save Magriel.

The river was the {2-Clubs}, and Magriel was eliminated.

Will Failla Elminated in 42nd ($3,833)

Shortly after surviving that earlier hand versus Greg Cox, Will "the Thrill" Failla was knocked out, courtesy of Cox.

Failla had gone all in (for real, this time) before the flop, and several players, including Cox, had called. The flop came {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, Cox bet pot, and the others folded. Cox showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} for the straight, and once the turn and river came Failla mucked his hand.

Ooops

Greg Cox and Will Failla just got themselves into a very interesting situation. They were heads up and the turn card had just been dealt. It was Failla's turn to act and he pushed all in thinking he had less chips than were already in the pot. Cox called very quickly and exposed his hand but the dealer then informed them that Failla had a little more than the pot. Play continued to the river where Failla knew his hand was beat so he just folded rather than being eliminated.

He's almost as good as gone, though, with only 2,500 chips left.

Earl Odom Eliminated in 43rd ($3,833)

On a flop of {7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Earl Odom got the last of his chips in the middle against Jamie Robbins, who had him covered.

Odom showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, and Robbins {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Odom's flush draw was live, though a lot of his outs were dead.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river the {A-Diamonds}. Robbins' tens and sevens gave him the best hand, and Odom hit the rail. Robbins is up to 88,000.

Bjorin Catches Hougaard

Chris Bjorin
Chris Bjorin
We picked up the action on a flop of {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Chris Bjorin had pushed the last of his stack in the middle, and the dealer was counting them out as Jesper Hougaard contemplated whether or not to call.

"You got one pair beat?" he asked. Bjorin offered nothing. Hougaard made the call. Total pot about 50,000.

Hougaard showed {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{A-Spades}{K-Spades} for the overpair. Bjorin showed {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs} -- a pair and a flush draw.

"Clubs!" said Hougaard. The turn was the {9-Clubs}.

The river was the {4-Hearts}, giving Bjorin his flush and the pot. Now he and Hougaard are about even in chips, each with about 50,000.
