Back-to-Back Beats for Bill Edler

Bill Edler
Bill Edler
Bill Edler might not be able to properly enjoy his dinner thanks to the two hands that immediately preceded the break. After the player under the gun raised to 1,100, Jamie Rosen moved in his last 7,000 and Edler moved all in himself. The original raiser mucked and Edler's {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} had Rosen's {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} dominated. Right up to the point where the flop came {J-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {7-Spades}. Edler didn't catch a king and his stack slipped to 21,500 while Rosen doubled to 16,500.

On the very next hand, Edler and another player saw a flop of {J-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} and all the money went in the middle. Edler's {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} had outflopped his opponent's {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} and after the {4-Diamonds} turned it looked like he'd win back the chips he just lost. But the river brought the {7-Spades}, pairing the board and giving the pot to his opponent. Edler's stack slipped to 17,500 as we reached the dinner break.

Johnny Chan Doubles Up

Johnny Chan didn't win 10 World Series of Poker bracelets by chopping pots. He went all in with Jamie Rosen only to find that they both had A-Q. But Chan had the {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} and after hitting on club on the {K-Spades} {7-Clubs} {4-Hearts} flop he went runner-runner with the {6-Clubs} on the turn and {8-Clubs} on the river to take down the pot and double to 14,500.

Eli Running Hot

On a flop of {5-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {2-Spades}, Eli Elezra and another player got all their chips in the middle. Eli held 10-2 for two pair while his opponent held pocket queens. His opponent couldn't catch up and was eliminated, knocking Eli up to 110,000 in chips.
