2008 World Series of Poker
Event 23 - $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em
Day: 3
Hand #8 - Dirksen
O'Brien, meticulous as ever, pauses for a good minute. Dirksen looks him up and down. O'Brien eventually checks.
Dirksen bets 75,000 without hesitation.
O'Brien dips back into the think tank, riffling his chips in the process. He calls.
Turn =
O'Brien quickly checks. Dirsken's time to pause now, before betting 140,000.
O'Brien sighs, rests his chin in his hand whilst continuing to riffle his chips in his right hand. A tough decision, it would seem, but an important one as the pot is now 454,000.
O'Brien asks for an approximate count, I believe. He continues to mull over his next move. He may be waiting for a read.
Eventually he makes the pass and Dirksen takes the pot.
Hand #9 - Dirksen
Hand #10 - Dirksen
Flop:
Dirksen checks to Brockington, who bets 125,000. Dirksen now immediately announces all in for 965,000 total, and after a brief dwell, Brockington lays it down.
Hand #11 - Hinkle
Hand #12 - Steicke
Check, check.
Turn =
Steicke seems to compose himself before making a bet of 96,000.
Dirksen glances over at his foe before passing. Steicke takes the pot.
Hand #13 - Bjorin
Bjorin:
Hinkle:
Board: an incredibly exciting but ultimately fruitless
Bjorin doubles up, and his face displays some emotion for the first time today -- he smiles broadly as he rakes in the chips.
Hand #14 - Steicke
Hinkle leads out for 65,000. Steicke calls.
Turn =
Hinkle, staring intently at the board, glances back down at his chips before leading out again, this time for 130,000. Green chips involved this time - a sure sign of action.
Steicke, however, pulls out three columns of orange chips (worth 5,000 apiece) and raises it up to 430,000.
Hinkle gives it up. Steicke shows for the bullets. Pow pow.
Break Time
Not sure you can get a short ten-minute break though, it's ten minutes, period.
