Andy Bloch lost a monster pot when involved in a hand heads up against Tommy Hang. After losing the hand, Bloch was down to 265,000 and then managed to dominate the next three hands. On the third hand, Bloch was heads up again with Hang, with Hang calling Bloch all the way to the river. Both players showed over-pairs, with Hang holding pocket queens and Bloch holding pocket aces.
After striking the three-hand comeback, Bloch is back up over 380,000.
Patrick Bueno put in the rest of his chips after a flop holding , only to find that Steve Sung had him dominated with . Bueno didn't catch a King on the turn or river and was eliminated in 26th place.
Shun Uchida bet, Chris Vitch raised and J.C. Tran three-bet. The other two players called and they saw a flop. Uchida and Vitch both checked then both called Tran's bet. The turned, Uchida and Vitch again checked and when Tran bet again Uchida called and Vitch folded. Both players checked when the fell on the river and Tran said, "All right, how big's your pair?". It turned out Uchida's pipped Tran's and that post propelled Uchida up to 280,000.
A few hands later Andy Bloch raised and Tran called from the cutoff. Block check-called Tran's 6,000 bet after the flop and when the turned Bloch checked again. Tran bet, Bloch check-raised, and Tran laid his hand down. Losing those two pots dropped him down to 157,000.
With an average chipstack of 165,000, and the blinds being at 3,000/6,000, many players have been stranded waiting to catch just the right hand to get all their chips in with.
Many shortstacks exist within the field, with the average player having only thirteen big blinds in front of them. The big stacks haven't been wasting their time, pushing the smaller stacks around first chance they get. We've only had a couple double ups, though not many of the remaining players have been willing to risk getting their chips in the middle just yet.
Jassinowsky and Sung got all the money in before the flop, with Jassinowsky holding to Sung's . Jassinowsky flopped a set on the but Sung had some hope after the turned. But the on the river gave the hand to Jassinowsky and doubled him up to 60,000.
J.C. Tran led out preflop and Eric Buchman made it two bets to go. Tran reraised and Buchman called. The flop came and Buchman check-called Tran. The turn brought the and again Buchman check-called. The river was the and this time Buchman led out and was called by Tran. Buchman showed for the straight while Tran showed for top pair top kicker.
