Roland de Wolfe Doubles Up

Roland de Wolfe
Roland de Wolfe
We caught up to this hand just before the flop. Roland de Wolfe was on the button and the last of his chips were in the pot against a single late-position opponent. The players showed:

de Wolfe: {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}

The flop was dry for both, coming {7-Clubs} {7-Spades} {6-Clubs}. Much to de Wolfe's delight, the turn came the {Q-Diamonds}, giving him the lead in the hand. The river was a harmless {8-Diamonds} and Roland dragged the pot. He now sits on a stack of approximately 6,000.

Binger Busting 'Em Out

A middle-position player raised to 500, Michael Binger called from the cutoff and both blinds called. The flop was {10-Spades} {6-Spades} {4-Hearts}. The blinds checked, the MP player moved all in for 2,200, Binger raised to 5,000 and the blinds folded.

The MP player turned up {5-Clubs} {5-Spades}, crushed by Binger's {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}. The turn was the {Q-Clubs}, the river was the {A-Spades} and Binger claimed another victim. He's now up to 19,000.

Fabrice Soulier Shows the Nuts

Fabrice Soulier
Fabrice Soulier
Fabrice Soulier just picked up a nice pot when, after his opponent slow-played top set, he went runner-runner for the nuts and got paid off.

By the river, the board read {10-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {J-Clubs} and Soulier's opponent bet 900 into the roughly 4,000 chip pot. Soulier raised to 2,550 and got paid off. Soulier showed {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}, besting his opponent's {10-Clubs} {10-Spades}. He is now a force with 17,200.

Brandon Cantu Eliminated...So We've Been Told

Not long ago, Jean-Robert Bellande approached the media desk and asked "do you know where Brandon Cantu is?"

"I'm sorry...I don't" I replied. "I'm not sure that he's playing this event. We didn't see him."

"Oh he definitely is," replied Bellande.

"Oh...well if you do find him please let us know so we can track his progress as well," I asked.

A few minutes later, after being absent for a few hands, Bellande yelled over "I found him!"

"Oh ya?...where's he at?" I asked.

Bellande smiled and replied "He's at his house in [neighborhood omitted]...I guess he busted pretty quick."

Michael Binger Off to a Good Start

Michael Binger opened for a 600 raise and both blinds called. The flop was {J-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {6-Spades}. The small blind checked, the big blind moved all in for 1,500, Binger called and the small blind folded.

Binger turned up {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} for top pair, besting the big blind's {Q-Spades} {7-Spades}. The turn was the {K-Hearts}, the river was the {5-Diamonds} and Binger added even more chips to his growing stack, which is approaching the 16,000 mark.

Kenny Tran Eliminated

Three players limped in, Kenny Tran moved all in for 2,050 from the small blind, the big blind called and the limpers folded. Tran turned up {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} and was in a race situation with the big blind's {3-Clubs} {3-Spades}. The flop was {K-Spades} {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}, no help for Tran. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and the big blind made a full house when the {3-Hearts} spiked on the river, eliminating Tran.
