Aliaksandr Dzianisau Eliminated in 16th Place ($12,267)

Aliaksandr Dzianisau
Aliaksandr Dzianisau
Aliaksandr Dzianisau got into a pot with Jesus, and it cost him his tournament life. The two men got it all in on fifth street, with Dzianisau at risk of elimination. When all the cards were dealt, the hands looked like this:

Ferguson: {4-?} {7-?} {2-?} {7-?} {J-?} {5-?} {A-?}
Dzianisau: {4-?} {4-?} {3-?} {8-?} {10-?} {7-?} (X)

With his pair of sevens and a seven-five low, Ferguson scoops up the pot and ends the hopes of Dzianisau. He will walk away with more than $12,000 for his two days' worth of work... not too shabby.

Dueling Tables

With the last elimination, we are down to our final 16 players, who have recombined into two tables. As far as we know, we are still playing down to eight tonight.

Jan Suchanek Eliminated in 17th Place ($11,040)

Jan Suchanek
Jan Suchanek
Robert Beveridge has just knocked out Jan Suchanek.

Beveridge: (X) (X) {5-?} {2-?} {Q-?} {Q-?} (X)
Suchanek: (X) (X) {4-?} {6-?} {4-?} {A-?} (X)

Beveridge completed the bring-in bet, and Suchanek raised. Suchanek kept the lead on fourth, fifth, and sixth streets, the last bet putting him all in. When the cards were turned over, the hands read like this:

Beveridge: {Q-?} {5-?} {5-?} {2-?} {Q-?} {Q-?} {K-?}
Suchanek: {A-?} {4-?} {4-?} {6-?} {4-?} {A-?} {3-?}

Both players made full houses, but Beveridge's was better, queens full of fives. Suchanek's fours full of aces was no good, and he will head to the rail in 17th place, taking home $11,040.

Kohler Back on the Ropes

William Kohler just lost with a full house to Annie Duke's higher full house. Duke held aces full of tens and Kohler had fives full of fours. This hand crippled Kohler to 1,000 chips.

On the next hand, Kohler did manage to triple up when he put his last orange chip in the middle and won the high half of the pot to get back to 3,000.

A Decision to Be Made

We just overheard a conversation between the floor supervisor and Howard Lederer. They were discussing the late hour and the fact that we still have 21 players left.

It appears that the staff is going to hold a vote when we reach 16 players remaining. Majority rules, and if the players want to go home, we'll call it a night. If not, we'll play on until the final eight are set, regardless of how long it takes.

We reporters vote for sleep.
