Sherkhan Farnood, Giant Killer

A big-stacked Sherkhan Farnood just had Chad Brown, Phil Ivey, and Layne Flack all in. On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, here's what they had:

Farnood {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Brown {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Ivey {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Flack {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and the river the {8-Diamonds}. Amazingly, Farnood's two pair were enough, and he took all the chips. He's up to 60,000.

Shouldn't call him a "giant killer," though. As you might have guessed, all three of the losers rebought.

You Wat?

The flop was already out and looking like {8-Spades} {7-Clubs} {K-Clubs}.

Lee Watkinson led out for 2,500 before a player in the big blind raised to 10,000. Watkinson moved all in and found a caller.

Watkinson tabled {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {K-Spades} {J-Diamonds} to his opponent's {8-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {8-Hearts} x.

The turn {5-Clubs} made the flush for Watkinson before the river blanked.

Lee is up to 29,000 now.

Terrence, Not Johnny

Four players saw a flop of {Q-Spades}{A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Eric Froehlich in the small blind checked, Johnny Chan bet 6,000, and Terrence Chan raised all in for 8,800 total. A late position player and Froehlich got out of the way, and Johnny Chan called with his remaining chips.

Johnny {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Terrence {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The turn was the {J-Diamonds}, giving Terrence the straight. The river was the {10-Hearts}, and Terrence's hand held up.

Johnny rebought. Meanwhile, Terrence is up to 22,700.

Some Have Had Enough

Paul Magriel flopped a set of aces, but his opponent turned a flush, and Magriel is out.

Others who've busted and chosen not to rebuy include Michael Mizrachi and Dan Shak. Still 20 minutes left in the rebuy period.

Top Pair Good Enough for Seidel

Erik Seidel got all of his chips in on a flop of {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and was called by one opponent. Seidel showed {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a pair of kings, and his opponent {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for queens. The turn and river didn't change things, and Seidel is up to 14,000.

Turn Straight Up

The turn was out and looking like {3-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {8-Hearts}. Bill Gazes bet and an opponent called all in.

Gazes was drawing dead with {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {K-Spades} against his opponent's {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {10-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} fpr the straight.

The river came {J-Spades} and Gazes down to 5,400.
