Huge Pot Divided Amongst Three Players

A huge pot has just developed between Dustin Sitar, Mike Matusow and James Van Alstyne. The board read {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}, with Sitar all in and Matusow and Van Alstyne betting hard on the river to create a side pot.

At showdown Sitar won the high for the main pot with 8-T-9-J for a straight. Matusow showed {A-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for top two and nut low to get 3/4 of the side pot as Van Alstyne was left with sharing the low with his {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}.

After some confusion with the chopping of chips, Matusow is still going strong with about 250,000 chips.

Brian Haack Eliminated

In a massive four-way pot Brian Haack was the only one to not receive any chips after the cards had been tabled on a board of {Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

David Benyamine showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to collect the high with a full house, while Bruno Fitoussi collected the low of the main pot with {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Shun Uchida took the low in the side pot with {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} leaving Haack to muck his cards and head to the exit.

Bubble Boy Honors Shared

Brunson Bubbles
Brunson Bubbles
After heavy action Doyle Brunson found himself all in on the turn against James Grove on a board of {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

Brunson showed {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a pair of aces and tens against Grove's {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Clubs} for jacks and tens and straight draw.

The river was a cruel one for Brunson as the {Q-Clubs} gave Grove the straight to eliminate Brunson from the tournament.

At the very same time Thang Nguyen was involved in a big pot against Ram Vaswani. The board ran out {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{K-Spades}{8-Diamonds} which missed Nguyen completely as he showed {Q-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts} to send the pot to Vaswani with {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a full house.

Both eliminations happened at the same time so they share the bubble boy honors as the remaining 27 players are thrilled to now be in the money!

We Are in the Money!!!

Normally we have a period of time where play is conducted hand for hand until we reach the money. This time however we had two players eliminated at the same time, and as a result, hand for hand is not needed.

With the elimination of Brunson and Nguyen, we are in the money. Players will finish out this level and then head for break. They have redrawn for new seat assignments. We will update shortly after the break.
