Gabe Kaplan Eliminated

Gabe Gone
Gabe Gone
Gabe Kaplan committed the last of his chips on a board of {10-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Kaplan led out with a bet and his opponent raised to put Kaplan all in. Kaplan reluctantly called as he asked, "You got ace-king?"

Kaplan held {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for the bottom end of the straight but ran into the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} of his opponent who held the nut straight.

The turn was the {3-Spades} and river the {5-Diamonds} to eliminate Kaplan from today's event.

Benyamine Crushes Chan

David Benyamine
David Benyamine
Johnny Chan raised preflop and David Benyamine made the call. The flop landed {5-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Chan check-called the bet from Benyamine.

The turn was the {J-Hearts} and Chan checked to Benyamine who bet before Chan check-raised. Benyamine called.

The river was the {9-Spades} and Chan bet again but Benyamine made the call tabling {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a set of tens to scoop the pot from Chan, who mucked.

Benyamine is now up to 127,000 in chips to be with the chip leaders, while Chan is in trouble on about 10,000.

Hansen, Judah Quartered

Thor Hansen was short stacked and all in preflop, with Mel Judah all in on the flop. They were up against David Benyamine who had them both covered:

Hansen: {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Judah: {3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Benyamine: {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} as Benyamine takes the high with two pair while Judah and Hansen chop the low to leave them still on the short stack.

De Wolfe Scoops

James DiGiorgio raised from late position and Roland de Wolfe made the call from the big blind.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and DiGiorgio's continuation bet was called by de Wolfe.

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} and this is where the action really started. The betting was frantically capped as both de Wolfe and DiGiorgio wouldn't budge.

The river was the {9-Hearts} and de Wolfe bet out again and this time DiGiorgio flat-called.

De Wolfe showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for the nut straight as DiGiorgio flashed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}-X-X for a flopped set that couldn't fill up.

De Wolfe is now up to over 70,000 in chips.
