Ralph Perry had the bring-in, Michael DeMichele completed and Perry called. On fourth DeMichele made a open pair of jacks and bet, Perry raised, and DeMichele called after a short think. On fifth street DeMichele checked, Perry bet, DeMichele raised and Perry called. On sixth and seventh DeMichele led out and Perry called him down.
Perry turned up for a pair of kings and DeMichele mucked. After the hand, Perry was up to 1,600,000 while DeMichele slipped back below the million mark with 840,000.
Patrick Bueno completed on third street and Andy Bloch called. Both players checked fourth and Bloch led on fifth, getting a call from Bueno. Bueno made an open pair of queens on sixth and led, Bloch making the call. Bueno also led out on seventh, and Bloch tanked for a bit before folding.
With his stack dwindling throughout the day, Doyle Brunson surrendered another chunk of his chips in a hand with Raymond Davis. With his board showing Brunson mucked after Davis showed an . Davis is now up to 1.1 million while Doyle was left with just 155,000.
After taking a pot from Doyle Brunson Raymond Davis just did the same with Erick Lindgren. With his board showing to Lindgren's , Davis bet out after the last cards were dealt and Lindgren raised. Davis made the call and when he showed for a Lindgren mucked his cards. Davis is now up to 1.35 million and Lindgren is down to 260,000.
Patrick Bueno completed on third street and was called by Scotty Nguyen, Michael DeMichele, and Ralph Perry. Perry had the high board on fourth and led out, Bueno called, Nguyen folded and DeMichele called. On fifth he led again, Bueno got out of the way, and DeMichele called. Both players checked on sixth and seventh streets.
Perry turned up -- a pair of kings for high and no low. DeMichele mucked, having missed his low draw and Perry scooped the pot, increasing his stack to 1,700,000. DeMichele is down to 960,000.
Only a few hands later, Perry scooped another stud-8 pot with trip sevens and a seven-low. He's now closing in on 2 million in chips.
Farzad Bonyadi bet seventh street in the dark. Lyle Berman, not realizing that Bonyadi had only 10,000 behind, just flat-called with his 8-7-4 low, besting Bonyadi's 8-7-6.
On the next hand, Bonyadi was all in for his last 10,000 on third street vs. Phil Ivey. Ivey made a 7-6 low, Bonyadi made an 8-7, and hit the rail in 18th place.
With the elimination of Farzad Bonyadi, we are now at 17 players and on the money bubble. Play will proceed hand for hand until we lose one more player and are in the money.
This is one of the largest bubbles you'll ever witness in a poker tournament. 17th place goes home empty-handed while 16th place earns $124,320.
It looks like Ralph Perry is trying to bully his table with his big stack as we sit on the bubble, but Michael DeMichele wasn't having any of that.
With the board reading , DeMichele faced a river bet from Perry, and after a lengthy stint in the tank, made the call with only unimproved. Perry flashed an ace and mucked, DeMichele dragging the pot.
Barry Greenstein raised to 20,000 and Mike Wattel committed his last 12,000 chips. He had to Greenstein's , but Greenstein caught the in succession to make a flush. Wattel didn't even bother looking at the card he got on seventh street--he just got up from his seat as the other players gathered around to see that they'd all made the money.
