Parviz Razavian Eliminated in 14th Place ($29,309)

Parviz Razavian - 14th Place
Parviz Razavian - 14th Place
We picked this one up on the flop. With the board showing {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, Parviz Razavian checked from the small blind, and Robert Kalb bet 160,000 from the big blind. Jason Moungey then pushed all in for 450,000 from the cutoff.

Razavian -- whom Moungey had covered -- called. Kalb, seeing two players all in, folded, showing Q-Q as he did.

Razavian {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Moungey {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

Tough spot for Razavian there. He'd flopped top two, but Moungey had a set of deuces. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and the river the {4-Spades}, and Razavian is out in 14th. Moungey is now up to 1.3 million.

Moungey Wins Minor Skirmish

The table folded around to Jason Moungey who completed in the small blind, and Peter Nguyen checked his option in the big blind. The flop came {8-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Moungey checked, Nguyen bet 50,000, and Moungey called. Both checked the {4-Diamonds} on the turn. The river brought the {6-Hearts}. Moungey bet 90,000, and Nguyen folded.

Moungey now has 450,000, and Nguyen 350,000. Both are a bit below the average chip stack at the moment, which is about 580,000 with 14 players remaining.

Steve Pierce Eliminated in 15th Place ($29,309)

Steve Pierce was eliminated after moving all-in preflop with pocket sevens. Parviz Razavian called and held {A-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}. The flop came {8-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {3-Spades} and Pierce appeared to be in great shape. Parviz saw the eight as the door card and walked away from the table, without realizing a set had been hit. However, the turn came the {8-Spades}, which appeared to be of no help for Parviz, until the {A-Hearts} on the river to give Parviz a running full house to best Pierce's full house.

Parviz was quite shocked, and relieved when he returned.

Siu Slips

Rasmus Nielsen just rivered a full house versus Chad Siu, and took most of Siu's chips in the process. Nielsen is now over 2 million, and Siu down to 171,000.

Paul Kim Eliminated in 16th Place ($29,309)

Anderson Silva raised to 50,000 from the hijack seat, chip leader Rasmus Nielsen reraised to 150,000 from the button, and Paul Kim shoved all in for just under 300,000 from the small blind.

Silva folded, and as Nielsen was deciding what to do, Kim stood up and jumped around a little. Nielsen was momentarily distracted, but then after he counted what was needed to call, he went ahead and did so.

Kim had {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and Nielsen {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. The flop brought an ace -- {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and Nielsen was ahead. The turn and river -- {5-Spades}{J-Clubs} -- didn't help Kim, and he's out in 16th.

After a lengthy stretch of quiet play, here's some action for you . . .

J.C. Tran raised to 42,000 from under the gun, Peter Nguyen reraised to 147,000, then Christoph Köhnen pushed all in over the top for a total of 313,000. Tran folded, and Nguyen made the call.

Nguyen showed {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, and Köhnen {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, and Köhnen doubled up to 700,000. Nguyen now has 315,000.

16 and Holding

Play has slowed considerably. Most are content to play small pots. Other than Anderson Silva, that is, who continues to push all in with frequency.

Jason Likes the Flop

Jason Moungey led out preflop for 45,000 and was called by Peter Nguyen. The flop ran {8-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {9-Spades} and Jason fired out 90,000 into the pot. Peter Nguyen folded the hand and Jason is up to 480,000.
