Jon Friedberg Eliminated

Jon Friedberg
Jon Friedberg
Jon Friedberg was eliminated after running pocket eights into Anderson Silva's A-K. Anderson spiked a king on the flop and Friedberg failed to improve. After the hand, Anderson is up over 720,000.

Matros Out

Matt Matros

Men "the Master" Nguyen pushed all in from the cutoff for 103,000 with {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Matt Matros called from the big blind with {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}. The flop came {8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Matros was still ahead. But the {Q-Hearts} on the turn meant his hand had been counterfeited. The river didn't help, and Nguyen doubled up to 215,000.

Down to just 16,000, Matros soon had to gamble with 6-5 suited and was eliminated.

All You Can Eat, Baby

Those are the immortal words of Men 'the Master' Nguyen and as he continues his rampage over the players in this tournament, we continue to hear it. That and 'Yes, baby, yes!"

Men doesn't seem to mind the 'Rain Khan' rule. And the crowd, and players at his table, don't seem to mind it either. It's hard to when someone is this entertaining.

Men has a style all his own and it continues to shine and entertain the deeper he goes in the tournament tonight. Earlier he was down to just 88,000 and most recently he's built himself back up over 300,000.

No Khan Do

Hevad Khan

Four limped to see a flop of {8-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Hevad Khan bet 24,000, Anderson Silva raised all in with his stack of 300,000, and Khan called with his remaining 110,000.

Khan showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, and Silva {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. The {5-Clubs} on the turn gave Silva the straight, and Khan was drawing dead.

Khan is out, and Silva way up to 530,000.

With a board showing {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, Christoph Köhnen checked, Paul Kim bet 45,000, and Köhnen check-raised all in for about 200,000 more.

Kim stood up from his chair, still unsure what to do. Köhnen, mistakenly thinking from Kim's standing that he was calling, flipped his hand over. Realizing his mistake, players on either side of Köhnen quickly moved to cover his cards. Köhnen turned them back over.

"Nice hand, sir," said Kim. "I saw it." He folded. "You were on a draw," he added. "I hit the flop."

Köhnen now has 270,000 chips. And perhaps some added appreciation for his neighbors.

Gazes Gone

Kristy Gazes

Christoph Köhnen raised to 25,000 from middle position, and Paul Kim called from the cutoff. Kristy Gazes then raised all in for 37,500 from the button. Both Köhnen and Kim called.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, and Köhnen bet 30,000. "Really? Really?" asked Kim, indicating his incredulity at Köhnen having bet into the dry side pot. Kim folded.

Köhnen showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for top pair. Gazes had {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} for two pair.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Gazes was still in front. But the turn was the {10-Diamonds}, giving Köhnen Broadway and sending Gazes to the rail.

Köhnen is up to 225,000.
