'Miami' John Cernuto is one of the first casualties of the day. In his final hand he ran into an opponent's nut flush which was good to scoop the pot and send Cernuto to the rail.

Kaplan and Johnston Tangle Early On

A hand between Gabe Kaplan, Berry Johnston, and a player on the button was three-bet preflop. On a flop of {7-Clubs}

, Johnston bet and both Kaplan and the button player called the bet. The turn was the {6-Diamonds}

. Johnston again bet and both opponents called. The river was the {9-Hearts}

. Johnston again fired at the pot and both opponents folded.

Bellande Frustrated

After chopping a pot with his opponent, Jean-Robert Bellande seemed confused when the dealer accidentally gave him the extra 25 denomination chip from the pot by mistake. The extra chip was meant to be given to his opponent, so Bellande threw the chip across the table and it landed in his opponent's lap!

A visably frustrated Bellande quipped "Argh! I just wanna throw these chips!" as he looked down at the 250 chips he has left.

Kravchenko MIA

We spotted Alex Kravchenko walking through the tables at the commencement of this event, but he hasn't been spotted since. We expected the defending champion to make an appearance today, however at this stage we can't confirm if he is playing multiple tournaments and will make a late arrival, or if he has chosen not to defend his 2007 title. We will keep you posted.

Bellande Kicked Out of Omaha

Jean-Robert Bellande was all in preflop with {A-Clubs}

. A late position player called with {A-Diamonds}

. By the turn, Bellande had both the nut flush and nut low draws with a board of {9-Diamonds}

, but he missed both draws when the river hit the {9-Spades}

. As a result, Bellande will have to come back tomorrow to play Survivor: Rio.

Men the Master Not Mastering Omaha

Men "The Master" Nguyen was all in on a flop of {8-Spades}

and received three callers. The turn and river came {J-Clubs}

and Nguyen tabled a {2-Diamonds}

. One of his opponents tabled {7-Clubs}

for a flush for high and another opponent tabled {A-Hearts}

to have the same low. Nguyen as a result was quartered and is now down to just 250 chips.

Tropical Update

Brandon Leeds is playing from the ten-seat on Tropical #11 today. At last check he had dragged a few pots and had a healthy stack. He asked that we give a special shout-out from him to his grandmother, Janina Leeds, who is celebrating her 85th birthday today. Brandon is going to do his best to win this event for her.
