Things Going Wong for Van Alstyne

James Van Alstyne has just split another pot; this time his opponent was Wing Wong.

On a board of {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, Van Alstyne held {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a low hand against Wong's nut flush with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Wong is travelling well with about 40,000 but overnight chip leader Van Alstyne has slipped in recent times to now sit with only around 5,000 in chips.

Tensions Rise

We are now three places from the money and tensions are understandably very very high. Several short stacks are waiting their turn to double up, or to possibly sqeak into the money via someone else's bust-out. A couple of notable short stacks are Rolf Slotboom and Perry Friedman. Both look to be around 10,000 in chips. With betting limits of 1,500 and 3,000, players will need to make a stand soon or risk being blinded out.

Jac Arama Rebounds on Bubble

Jac Arama is making a huge comeback around the bubble. At one stage Arama was down to under 2,000 in chips but he now sits comfortably with about 20,000.

In a recent pot he had the last of his chips in the middle on a board of {8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and showed {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} to scoop with the nut low and trips for the high.

Aggression on the bubble is paying dividens for Arama.
