Lisa Parsons Makes the Right Choice

With the board showing {2-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {J-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} Justin Scott bet enough to set Lisa Parsons all in. She went into the tank trying to decide whether to call for her tournament life, and at one point during her deliberations a cocktail server came over and tapped her on the shoulder as her coffee was delievered.

She thought a bit more and then finally committed her chips to the pot. "Good call," Scott said as he turned over {6-Hearts} {9-Spades}. Parsons leapt out of her seat and slammed her {K-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} down on the felt as she won the pot and doubled up.

Peter Hedlund and Jason McCarty Eliminated

Jose Baeza limped in from UTG, Peter Hedlund limped from the cutoff, Jason McCarty raised to 18,000 from the small blind, Baeza called, Hedlund reraised to 40,000 leaving himself a single 1,000 chip behind, McCarty called all in and Baeza called.

On the {4-Spades} {3-Hearts} {2-Spades} flop, Hedlund's last 1,000 chip was tossed into the middle and Baeza callled.

Baeza {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}

Hedlund {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}

McCarty {K-Hearts} {4-Hearts}

The turn was the {6-Spades}, the river was the {8-Diamonds} and Baeza's aces held up to eliminate both McCarty and Hedlund. He's now up to 310,000.

Eetu Vehilainen Eliminated

Eetu Vehilainen moved all-in preflop and was called by Jani Vilmunen. Eeto showed A-K and Jani held pocket fives. The flop fell {2-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and Eeto appeared to be in great shape. The {J-Diamonds} was of no help to Jani, but the {5-Diamonds} on the river landed him a set, eliminating Eeto from the tournament.

Kim Eliminates Lowe

Hasan Habib opened with a raise to 15,500 from middle position before Rick Lowe moved all in over the top for 52,000 in total. The action then passed to Kelly Kim on the button who then reraised to 88,500. The blinds folded, as did Habib, as the players showed their holdings:

Kim: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Lowe: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The board fell {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts} and the queens of Kim hold to send Lowe to the exit.

Young Out

Jason Young decided it was time to push his last 50,000 in with his pocket sixes, and Jeremy Renz decided it was worth calling with his pocket eights.

Young couldn't improve, and he's out. Renz is up to 330,000.

Nathan Mullen Eliminated

Allen Carter opened for 13,500, Nathan Mullen moved all in for 110,000 from late position and Carter made the call. It was a classic race situation with the players holding:

Mullen {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}

Carter {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}

The flop was {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}, giving the lead to Mullen, and the {10-Hearts} on the turn gave him a flush draw to boot. However, the {Q-Hearts} spiked on the river, making Carter queens full and eliminating Mullen in a rather cruel fashion.

Morton Antonsen Eliminated

Hasan Habib opened the action by raising to 16,500 and Morton Antonsen moved in for his last 37,000. Noah Kawashige then moved all in himself and Habib got out of the way. Antonsen learned that he'd run his {A-Spades} {8-Spades} into Kawashige's {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and when the board ran out {2-Spades} {6-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} Antonsen was eliminated.

Sheiky Runs Down Opponent

Sheiky Wields The Big Stack
Sheiky Wields The Big Stack
Shawn Sheikhan opened with a raise from middle position before Chris Bjorin reraised from the cutoff for all of his chips. "Sheiky" made the call with {A-Hearts}{6-Spades} but found himself dominated by the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} of Bjorin.

However the board ran out {5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} to give "Skeiky" a running straight to take down the pot and eliminate Bjorin.
