Tim West Eliminated

Tim West was all in preflop holding pocket jacks and was up against Brent Robert's {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. The flop of {4-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {6-Clubs} looked promising for Brent, who spiked another club when the {4-Clubs} fell on the turn. Tim failed to improve off the river's {K-Diamonds} and was eliminated from the tournament.

Jason Su Stacks a Monster Pot

Jason Su

Andre Johnstone limped into the pot from under the gun and Peter Eastgate raised to 22,000 from middle position. Leo Wolpert called from the cutoff as did Alberto Font from the small blind, Jason Su from the big blind and the limper Andre Johnstone came along as well.

It was five players to the flop and it fell {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}. Font checked and Su bet 60,000. Action folded back around to Font and he raised to 210,000. Su thought for quite awhile before finally moving all in. Font called all in and the players showed:

Font: {3-Clubs} {3-Spades}
Su: {8-Clubs} {8-Spades}

The turn fell the {4-Diamonds} with the river {K-Hearts} behind it. Alberto Font was eliminated while Jason Su surged to about 1,150,000 chips.

Stein Stays

We picked this one up on the flop, a blind-vs.-blind confrontation between Tiffany Michelle in the small and Craig Stein in the big.

The board showed {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Michelle checked, Stein bet 15,000, and Michelle called. The turn was the {8-Hearts}. Again Michelle checked, and this time Stein bet 30,000. Michelle made the call.

The river was the {K-Clubs}. Now Michelle bet out 35,000, and Stein called. Stein showed J-4 for jacks and eights, and Michelle mucked. She now has 195,000, while Stein sits at 350,000.

Tick-Tock Eliminations

We started the first level only fifty-six minutes ago and already we've had fifty-two eliminations. The first hour of play has been filled with constant yells of "All-in and a call!" from dealers throughout the Amazon room.

We've averaged an elimination every minute thus far. Floor staff has been doing a great job keeping up with everything, despite the amazingly hectic pace.

Bagel for Sagle

Jason Sagle got it all in with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and found himself up against Craig Marquis, who held {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The flop was fine for Sagle -- {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Another baby card on the turn, the {3-Hearts}, gave Marquis a wheel draw, but Sagle was still okay. The {K-Clubs} dropped on the river, though, and Sagle's chip count is now zero.

Dag Whiffs

On a flop of {5-Spades}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Dag Martin Mikkelsen and William Soffin are all in. Mikkelsen has {K-Spades}{6-Spades} and Soffin {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. The turn and river are {10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and the spade does not come. Dag is down to 260,000 and Soffin climbs to 980,000.

Joseph Flushed With Success

Jeremy Joseph
Jeremy Joseph
Jeremy Joseph raised it up preflop to 15,000 from early position, with Dale Andrews and the big blind making the call.

They saw a flop of {2-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Joseph fired out 25,000. Andrews moved all in and the big blind stepped aside. Joseph made the call.

Joseph: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Andrews: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Joseph held the nut flush draw but needed to hit, as Andrews flopped bottom set. The turn changed things around as the {4-Hearts} completed the flush, leaving Andrews needing to pair the board to survive. The {K-Hearts} rubbed salt into the wound as Andrews hits the rail and Joseph increases his chip lead over the field.
