Jared Brintz is playing today after qualifying for the Main Event online at Poker Stars. Next to him sits an interesting card capper-- a small black ceramic urn. Brintz's grandmother passed away just before he started playing in major poker events. In her memory, he carries a piece of her remains with him from tournament to tournament for good luck. Brintz has carried the urn to the 2004 and 2007 WSOP, the L.A. Poker Classic, and to the 2006 Ultimate Poker Classic in Aruba, where he finished fifth.

So far, Brintz is doing quite well and has already doubled his starting stack to 40,750.
