Mere moments after doubling up with that fortuitous four card flush, Tom Franklin doubled up again with pocket queens on a nine-high board; whatever the other guy had, it couldn't beat the ladies.
He's up to an above-average 40,000 now from down to virtually the felt about five minutes back.
It wasn't looking fantastic for Perry Friedman when he got his chips in preflop with against another player's , but oh, the drama.
Board: and Friedman was back in the game.
-------
Over on Table Hellmuth, in an entirely unrelated but almost simultaneous incident, Captain Tom Franklin got his chips in with against another player's -- it looks as though the chips went in on the flop rather than before it.
Board:
Look! Another flush! Captain Tom stays in. "I got beat," said his opponent, rather unnecessarily.

Looks as though we could be seeing a total decimation of the field -- in the past few minutes we have witnessed at least four players all in for just their ante. Remarkable.
Tommy Pope has dropped right down from his earlier high point of 92,000 to his current 58,000. More than 20,000 of it evaporated just now, when his pocket queens got thoroughly whupped by Danny Noam's on a board. Looks as though the chips went in on the turn, and Noam is now up to maybe 45,000.
A full double up for a sanguine Jonathan Aguiar, enjoying a massage and entirely not rising to his opponent's exasperated, "I can't beat you, man!" as the cards were turned over. With a fair bit of betting pre, the rest of the chips went in on the flop.
Aguiar:
Exasperated opponent:
Board:
Aguiar is up to 40,000 or so, while Mr Exasperated is down to a felt-skimming 5,000.
Just before the break, Perry Friedman found himself involved in a rather upsetting three-way pot. The gent on the cutoff raised all in for not many chips, and the gent on the button called. Over to big blind Friedman, who announced all in. Eventually the button called, and they were on their backs, Friedman well ahead.
Friedman:
Cutoff: a rather optimistic
Button:
Board: an unbelievably exciting to give Mr Cutoff a flush, taking the main pot, and Mr Button a straight to take the sizable side pot.
"WOO!" declared Mr Button. "WOO! WOO!" and banged his fist on the table in a rather ungentlemanly manner. It was loud and brash enough for one of the floormen to upbraid him: "Sir, there is no need to beat the furniture."
