Ivey Makes a Good Call

WARNING: Do Not Bluff This Man
WARNING: Do Not Bluff This Man
Phil Ivey raises to 1,100 from the button and the big blind calls. The flop comes {8-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} and after the big blind checks, Ivey makes a continuation bet of 1,500. The big blind calls.

The turn pairs the board with the {8-Clubs} and both players check. The river brings the {8-Hearts} and the big blind leads for 2,200. Ivey tanks for a few minutes, giving his opponent the patented 'Ivey Stare of Death'. After gazing into his soul, Ivey pulls out the information he needs and makes the call.

Without hesitation, the big blind mucks his cards. Ivey wins the pot without having to show down.

Aces vs. Ace-King vs. Ace-King

Shaun Deeb opens the pot for a 1,025 raise and Brandon Schaefer calls from behind. From late position Justin Young reraises to 4,100. The blinds folds and Shaun Deeb pushes all in. Schaefer calls all in for his tournament life and Young, who has them both covered, also decides to call.

Shaun Deeb: {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
Schaefer: {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}
Young: {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}

The board provides little drama with {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {10-Spades} and Schaefer triples up to 27,000. Deeb drops to a short stack with only 3,000 and Young is left with 12,500.

Jon Little Takes a 20,000 Hit

Jonathan Little
Jonathan Little
Jonathan Little opens the pot for a raise and gets called in three spots, including the big blind. The flop rolls out {J-Clubs} {4-Spades} {4-Clubs} and the big blind leads out for a bet. Little raises and action folds back around to the big blind, who three bets. Little moves his opponent all in and he is called.

Little: {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} (queens and fours with a jack)
Big Blind: {10-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} (trip fours)

The board fills out {J-Clubs} {4-Spades} {4-Clubs}{9-Spades} {8-Hearts} and Little doubles up his opponent.

Losing about 20,000 in the hand, Little is still in decent shape with 41,000.
