Aside from the occasional preflop steal attempt (see previous post), play in the early stages has been remarkably tight.
There have been very few raised pots played so far today, and players seem to be taking the time to size up their competition since they will be staying at their tables throughout all of the day's action.
Paul Keesey opened with a raise to 1,500. Thomas Braband made the call, and Nick Binger put in a re-raise, making it 5,500 straight. When it came back to Keesey, he moved all in for 40,500. After taking a moment to consider, Braband made the big call, having Keesey covered. Binger flashed and got out of the way.

Keesey was caught with his hand in the cookie jar a bit, but Braband would still have to fade five board cards. The dealer ran them out , and the kings held. With that, Paul Keesey becomes the first player busted here on Day 2.
Victor Ramdin raised from late position, and Srinivasa Yarlagadda called out of the big blind. The flop came out , and Yarlagadda checked. Ramdin fired out 2,200 chips and got a call.
Fourth street brought the and a check from both players. The hit the river, and Yarlagadda put in a bet of his own, sliding out 2,100 chips. Ramdin called, and Yarlagadda tabled . It was the winner as Ramdin sent his cards back to the muck.
Marco Liesy seems to be the only player who has not yet shown up to take his seat. He's being blinded down, something he can ill afford at a table with Theo Tran, Eugene Katchalov, and Dan Hirleman.
Welcome to Day 2 of the $1,500 No-Limit Hold 'em Shootout. We have 100 players remaining in the field, each gunning to be the last man or woman standing at their table and to move on to Day 3.
Each player has already been victorious once this tournament, outlasting the competition on Day 1 and earning a payday worth at least $5,236. Today, one player from each table will advance to tomorrow's final table where they'll compete for the first-place money and Champion's bracelet.
Stay tuned for all for all of the action from this exciting event and see which players can out-gun the competition to become the shootout champion.
