Great Scott

"Right, that's it, I've had my luck for the day," announced Kara Scott, now up to 88,000.

It appears that a gentleman raised in early position and short stack Justin Bonomo went over the top. Scott looked down at {A-?} {Q-?} and reraised to isolate, but the original raiser liked his hand and either reraised or called all in -- either way the cards were on their backs preflop and it wasn't looking good for Kara.

Bonomo: pocket kings
Original raiser: pocket jacks

...But Ms Scott proceeded to make a four card flush to knock out both players. Yikes.

Jimmie Fricked

Tournament is now Frick-less
Tournament is now Frick-less
Oh dear, an unfortunate exit for Jimmy Fricke. There was an early position raise from Michel Van Loon to 2,400 and it folded right around to Fricke in the small blind, who shoved for 15,000. A call, a showdown, an outdraw, and Fricke headed for the door.

Fricke: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Van Loon: {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}

Board: {J-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {A-Clubs}

Meyer Leads the Field

All those big stacks below pale next to the new chip-leading stack in the possession of one Marcus Meyer. Our eagle-eyed field reporter caught up with the hand that did it on the {4-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {10-Spades} flop, when Meyer check-called an 8,200 bet, and Meyer and his opponent proceeded to the {3-Spades} turn. Meyer checked and this time his opponent bet 12,000 -- only for Meyer to go over the top for 55,000. His opponent gave it some thought, and eventually called all in for 48,000 total.

Meyer: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}
Soon-to-be-busted opponent: {A-Spades} {J-Spades}

A bricky {2-Clubs} on the river, and Meyer was up to 135,000.

Hellmuth Getting Desperate

Phil Hellmuth is in a spot of bother -- he's down to just 3,000 or so and just now had to fold his big blind to a raise that would have covered him. "Nice hand, buddy," said the uncharacteristically quiet Hellmuth, the Poker Brat apparently silenced by his short stack status.
