Less for Jesper

One of our Hougaards at least is in trouble -- big brother Jesper is down to under 2,000 after an opponent called his preflop raise in the big blind and then check-called all the way down the {8-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} board to the {10-Diamonds} river, where he snap-shoved for his last 1,000. Hougaard didn't really like the look of that river, but called -- and mucked when his opponent turned over {5-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} for the rivered flush.

Dwanna Play With Me?

By the by, we do have a Tom Dwan registered in today's event, but it's not who you think it is. Mr Tom Dwan Sr, better known as Durrr's dad, was due to start at noon, but apparently was under instructions from Dwan Jr. not to play the first two levels. He'll be about somewhere now, though -- hopefully he'll become apparent as the field begins to thin.

Tout C'Est Bon for Bonomo

Justin Bonomo called a preflop raise and then called a bet on the {4-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} flop. Both players checked the {9-Hearts} turn and the original raiser checked the {K-Clubs} river and then called 1,000 from Bonomo. Bonomo flipped over {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} and his opponent called and mucked, putting Bonomo up to a healthy 8,700.

No Longer Liv-ing

Incidentally I posted that Liv Boeree photo at just the right moment -- running into her outside the poker kitchen during the break, it transpired that she is out already. Still some loveliness in the field though in the shapes of Kara Scott on 7,500 and Liz Lieu on chips as yet undetermined...
