Ivey Train Back On Track

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey
Just when you thought it was all heading south for Phil Ivey, he's back once again, and not with a double up, but a triple up!

In Omaha-8, Ivey raised the button after Steve Wong had limped in. Frank Debus called in the big blind as did Wong.

The flop was {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Debus led out with a bet which both opponents called. The turn brought the {8-Diamonds} and Debus checked to Wong who this time led the betting, however again both opponents called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and action checked to Ivey who took his turn to be the aggressor by moving his last 9,000 into the middle. Debus folded to leave himself just 40,000 behind as Wong made the call.

Wong: {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Ivey: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

A wheel for Ivey, good for the high and the low, to scoop the pot and jump back into contention with 204,000 chips.
