We're still waiting for the cameras to get ready over on the main featured table, and now the daily bracelet ceremony is about to begin on the podium. It's going to be a little while before we get rolling, after all.
Just as the start time hit, the decision was made to move the players over to the two featured table areas. There'll be a little delay while the chips are racked up and the move is made. We should be underway in just a few minutes though.
After starting with 256 players, the 2009 WSOP Heads-Up Championship is down to the eight. These players will face each other in the following match-ups:
Leo Wolpert vs.
Dustin Woolf
Jamin Stokes vs.
Johnny Chan
Nathan Doudney vs.
Bryan Pellegrino
John Duthie vs.
Steve O'Dwyer
The winners of these matches will advance to Round 6 - the final four. At that point, levels will increase to forty minutes in length. Finally, the two men left standing will face each other in a best out of three match.
Johnny Chan is the only remaining player with a WSOP bracelet. In fact, a victory today would be Chan's 11th, tying him with Phil Hellmuth for the most ever.
Stay with us throughout the day to see how action unfolds in the exciting conclusion of the Heads-Up Championship.
