Payout Desk Clerk Earning Her Pay

We're now down to 135 players. Since we reached the cash, each of those players eliminated has received a payday just under $3,000 (twice the buy-in). Recent eliminations include Eugene Katchalov (158th), Alex Jacob (154th), and David Pleat (148th).

Praz Makes a Slick Fold

From early position, Eddie Le raised to 4,000 to open the betting. Praz Bansi reraised to 11,500 from middle position, and Andrew Younglood was unimpressed. He moved all in over the top of both raises, committing his last 62,000 chips to the pot.

As soon as he moved in, Youngblood stood up and started pacing around the table. When Le folded, he moved on to Bansi and began chatting it up as the player was considering his decision. Bansi finally got the message and open-mucked ace-king. When Youngblood got back to his seat, he was kind enough to show the table his {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} as he adds more than 15,000 chips to his stack. He's up to 85,000.

Kings and Axes

After a preflop raise to 6,000, Mike Souza and two other players called before the small blind moved all in for about 25,000 total. The rest of the table passed, but Mike Souza made the call from the button.

He tabled {A-Spades} {K-Clubs} to lead his opponent's {7-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} . The flop brought another seven for the at-risk player, but it also contained two kings. In the end, the board ran out {7-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} to lock up the pot for Souza and send yet another player to the payout desk.

Souza's now sitting on a stack of 125,000.

Another TKO for ElkY

ElkY's still going at it over there, a man on a mission. He's just claimed another victim with ace-king versus ace-queen. The two men got it all in when an ace flopped, and the rest of the board ran dry.

After notching another elimination, Grospellier is all the way up to 340,000, fighting for the top spot on the board now.

Phil Felted (Finally)

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth
The big blind finally crept back around to Phil Hellmuth's seat, and he was all in. A player in middle position raised to 5,000. "Not him!" said Hellmuth. The rest folded, and his opponent turned over {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}.

To increase the drama, Hellmuth turned over his cards one at a time. First, the {4-Hearts}. "At least it's a four," said Hellmuth, noting the live card. Then, the {7-Spades}. "Yes! The four-seven!" The table laughed.

The board came {3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{A-Diamonds}, and Hellmuth is out in 113th place, for which he earns $3,231.

That'll cover that $2,000 the Poker Brat now owes Roland de Wolfe (for losing their last-longer bet).

Dropping Like Flies

The line at the payout desk is beginning to thin out a bit, but players are still falling fast.

Among the most recent casualties of Day 2 were Devin Porter, Roberto Romanello, Justin Pechie, Pat Poels, and Kevin Sherrill.
