Naalden Needles Lindgren

Some winners and losers are emerging over on the Table Of Total Doom.

Erick Lindgren raised from the button and then called a reraise from Marc Naalden in the small blind. Naalden bet out on every street of the {K-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {J-Spades} {10-Clubs} {8-Hearts} board and Lindgren called him all the way down -- and naturally, Naalden showed him {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}. Lindgren mucked and is down to 4,850; Naalden meanwhile is up to a comfortable 10,000.

Green for Greenstein

Greenstein - awaker than usual
Greenstein - awaker than usual
Barry Greenstein, John Phan and one more player made it as far as the turn of a {7-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {3-Clubs} board -- they all checked.

The river came down the {9-Diamonds} and now Greenstein bet out -- both players called, but both duly mucked when Greenstein showed them {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}.

Greenstein's on a slightly-below-starting-stack 5,000; the luckless Phan has not won a pot in while and is down to 3,000.

Witteles On His Todd

A short-stacked Todd Witteles raised in the cutoff and got called by both blinds. It checked around to him on the {9-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades} flop and he bet; the small blind folded but the big blind raised, and Witteles called all-in.

Big blind: {A-Clubs} {7-Spades}
Witteles: {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}

Turn: {6-Hearts}
River: {8-Spades}

Witteles tossed his cards away with a sigh of frustration and stalked off.

Dutch Courage

Noah Boeken was among the shorter stacks on the Table Of Total Doom, but he's picked up a nice pot just now to put him back up to his starting stack.

Boeken raised out of the cutoff and got a call from the gentleman in the big blind to see a {6-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {8-Spades} flop which the big blind checked. Boeken bet, and a swift call from his opponent led to a bet on the {K-Spades} turn. Boeken smooth-called, and also called his opponent's bet on the {7-Clubs} river.

The big blind turned over {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} for, well, ace-high; Boeken's {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} had got lucky and he took the pot.

Elizabeth Doubles; Remains Short

A gentleman raised, and it folded around to severely short-stacked Shannon Elizabeth in the small blind, who reraised. Her opponent called the reraise, and furthermore called her bets on every street until she was all in for 75 on the river of the {4-Spades} {10-Spades} {K-Spades} {10-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} board; he called that too, but had clearly underestimated the strength of Ms Elizabeth's hand, and he just mucked when she flipped over {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}.

She doubles up to a still precarious 2,000.

J.J. Liu-ses a Pot

J.J. Liu raised her button and got called by the big blind as well as two limpers in mid position and the cutoff respectively.

She raised to a bet from the cutoff on the {A-Spades} {6-Clubs} {3-Spades} flop and it was just the two of them who made it to the {J-Hearts} turn and {Q-Hearts} river; they both just checked. Liu turned over {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} and lost the pot to her opponent's {3-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} but never fear, J.J. fans! Even after losing that pot, she's up to an excellent 10,300.
