Pot Limit Omaha World Championship Set To Recommence

Welcome back to our continued coverage of Event #40 of the 2009 World Series of Poker. It's one of the big events on the schedule, the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha World Championship. Yesterday we were treated with 295 of the world's greatest players battling it out on the felt, with 116 of them surviving to return today. Their first goal will be to reach the money and then the final table.

They are led by Noah Schwartz who tops the table with 292,600 chips.

The players are taking their seats and unbagging their chips with play set to recommence in around ten minutes time. Stay tuned!

The Cool Kids Start to Arrive

With the cards already in the air, many of the tables are recommencing short-handed as once again we have many tardy players, who are now hurriedly rushing in the doors of the Amazon Room and trying to find their seats.

Barry Gets Up on the Right Side of the Bed

Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein
The man who won the last significant pot of the day last night has kicked off today in the same form by winning the first significant pot of play today.

The man is Barry Greenstein, who found his chips in the middle on a flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}. Greenstein tabled {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{K-Spades} for bottom set. His opponent, Jonas Entin, revealed a very impressive {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} for flush draw and wrap.

Entin had outs in every direction and was a favorite in the hand, but didn't want to see the {5-Hearts} fall on the turn to give Greenstein a full house.

The river bricked the {a-Diamonds} and Greenstein takes down a huge pot to double through to around 290,000 with Entin now on life support.

Tony G Eliminated

Tony G
Tony G
On a board of {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {3-?} {6-?}, Tony G was all in against Robin Keston.

Tony G: {Q-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {3-Hearts}
Keston: {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {J-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}

Keston's flopped full house defeats the lower full house of Tony G, eliminating him from the tournament.

Double for Vengrin

Matt Vengrin
Matt Vengrin
Mett Vengrin has just found a nice double up after getting his last 42,000 chips in on a flop of {J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Vengrin held {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for a wrap against the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for overpair and flush draw for his opponent.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and river the {5-Diamonds} to give Vengrin a runner-runner full house to collect the pot. He's now in good shape with 117,000 chips.

Play Settles

After an early splurge of eliminations, play appears to have settled down somewhat as players find their groove on Day 2 and lock their sights on reaching the top 27 and the cash.

Noah Schwartz and Barry Greenstein are still our two clear chip leaders with nearly 300,000 chips.
