Diamonds for De Wolfe

Limit Hold'em

Roland de Wolfe and his opponent capped the betting after both the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop and {8-Diamonds} turn. The river was the {6-Hearts}, de Wolfe's opponent checked, he bet, and his opponent called.

De Wolfe showed {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, nipping his opponent's {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. That brings De Wolfe back up to 6,300.

"Have you guys gone through all the games yet?"

Asked Nick Frangos of Chris Reslock at the neighboring table. The answer was yes -- as we approach the end of Level 2, Reslock's table has made it back around to 2-7 Triple Draw. Meanwhile, Frangos' table is still finishing the last of the eight games, pot-limit Omaha.

We're Back

Cards are back in air.

If what we were hearing before the tournament began is accurate, they will gradually be moving players to create eight-handed tables from this point forward. (As mentioned earlier, when they go eight-handed, two players will take turns sitting out each 2-7 Triple Draw hand.)

Not Getting Out of Harman's Way

Limit Hold'em

Jennifer Harman raised from early position (to 300). The fact that Harman authored the chapter on limit hold'em in Super/System 2 didn't deter the player in the hijack seat who reraised (to 450). It folded back around to Harman who made the call.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Harman checked, her opponent bet, she check-raised, and he called. The turn was the {3-Hearts}. Harman led this time with a bet, and her opponent called.

The river was the {7-Clubs}. Again Harman bet, he called. She showed {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, but was beaten by her opponent's {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}.

Harman still has about 12,500.

More Mixin' It Up

Phil Ivey is here. Huck Seed is here. They're all here, basically.

The unofficial number of entrants is 412 at the moment, and there are a number of new notables to add to our ever-growing list, including Jimmy Fricke, Eli Elezra, Men Nguyen, J.C. Tran, Kelly Kim, Allen Cunningham, John Hennigan, Surinder Sunar, Tuan Le, Bruno Fitoussi, David Levy, Michael Binger, Annie Duke, Shawn Sheikhan, Brett Richey, Hoyt Corkins, Max Pescatori, Andy Bloch, David Singer, Victor Ramdin, Erick Lindgren, and Young Phan.

And Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson is here, too! Wouldn't be right to throw a party like this without him.

Ivey In, Ivey Out

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey
2-7 Triple Draw

Phil Ivey's stay was brief. Already getting low on chips, Ivey raised before the first draw from early position, Victor Ramdin reraised from the button, and Ivey called. Both drew two cards, then Ivey bet and Ramdin called. On the second draw, Ivey stood pat and Ramdin drew one. Again Ramdin called Ivey's bet.

On the last draw, Ivey again stood pat and Ramdin again drew one. Ivey bet, and when Ramdin called Ivey motioned as if to say by calling Ramdin had it. Ramdin turned over {9-?}{7-?}{5-?}{4-?}{2-?}, and Ivey mucked, down to just 150 chips.

On the next hand, Ivey was all in, and ended up losing to Mike Wattel's 7-low. Ivey is out.
