Meehan Applies Pressure

A player in early position raised to 2,100 and action folded to Minneapolis Jim Meehan in the big blind.

He made the call and immediately led out for 4,900 on a flop of {K-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}. His opponent did a short bit of Hollywooding before mucking his hand.

Meehan has a stack worth 23,000.

A Good Flop

Steve Bowles moved all in for 7,650 on a board of {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} and got a call from his opponent, who showed {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for top pair.

Bowles showed {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades} for the nut straight and faded running hearts when the board finished {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}, doubling his stack to 17,000.

A Strong Bet and Nice Pot for Enright

Action folded to Barbara Enright on the button who raised to 1,725. The small blind called and the big blind pushed all in for just 300 more.

After the calls, the small blind checked to Enright who bet 2,000 at a flop of {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The small blind mucked {A-?}{Q-?} face up, and we went heads up to the turn after Enright showed ace-9 and her opponent showed 8-9.

The {3-Hearts} on the turn didn't change a thing, though the {Q-Spades} on the river brought an exasperated sigh from the big blind.

"That's why I bet it," Enright said. "I couldn't let you catch up."

"I know. You know what you're doing," was the response as Enright stacked up the chips. She now has about 18,000.

A Triple Up for Dunshie

Charles Dunshie couldn't have been happier with the action in front of him. A player in middle position moved in for 1,250 and a player behind reraised all in for 3,400.

Dunshie looked down at {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and made the call for his last 2,700 to find he was up against {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} and {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

When the board ran {Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Dunshie's rockets held and he tripled his stack to 9,800.
