Danny Smith Falls to the Dank Position

Danny Smith might look back fondly on those moments a few hours ago when he was near the top of the counts. He's now in the Dank Position at the very bottom of the counts after a tangle with Jeff Tunkel. We only saw the board ({K-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {Q-Spades}) and Tunkel's hand, {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {7-?} {8-?}. His nut flush and seven-ace low were good to scoop both halves of the pot.

Smith's stack was decimated to just 13,000 chips.

Zimmerman Doubles Up

Jason Zimmerman has doubled up after moving all in from the big blind to a raise from small blind Josh Schlein.

Zimmerman: {A-Spades} {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} {10-Clubs}
Schlein: {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {7-Diamonds}

Board: {7-Spades} {5-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts}

Zimmerman's up to 42,000, while Schlein drops to 112,000.

Trouble for Kenny Yeh

Kenny Yeh is here today in an orange fisherman's hat. He must have been fishing for a fold in a recent pot against Michael Keiner. Yeh bet the {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {3-Clubs} flop and was called by Keiner. Both players checked the {9-Clubs} turn. When the river paired the board {A-Hearts}, Yeh fired again. Keiner called with {8-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {9-Spades} {J-Hearts}, a baby flush. Yeh had complete air and mucked his hand.

Yeh is down to 28,000. Keiner is comfortable with 115,000.

Yeh Eliminated

Well, that didn't take long. Kenny Yeh raised from early position preflop and was called by Mike Matusow and Patrice Boudet. Matusow had first action on a flop of {9-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} and led out with a bet. Boudet folded but Yeh called.

On the turn {5-Clubs} Matusow checked to Yeh, who bet. Matusow then check-raised enough to set Yeh all in. He called with {A-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs}, the second nut low and a club draw. Matusow showed down {A-Spades} {2-Spades} {4-Spades} {9-Diamonds}, the nut low and a straight six. When the river fell {J-Diamonds}, Yeh was out of the tournament.

Matusow is on 140,000 and (apparently) feeling good.

Zimmerman Hits the Board Hard

It was a check-call from Josh Schlein on a flop of {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {8-Spades}. He was in the pot with Jason Zimmerman. When the turn fell {J-Hearts}, Schlein led out with a bet of his own that Zimmerman raised all in. Schlein called. We never saw his hand; Zimmerman turned up trip jacks, {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {K-Spades} {J-Spades}, then promptly rivered aces full of jacks when the {A-Spades} hit the river.

Zimmerman is up to 75,000. Schlein falls to 106,000.

Mavro Crippled, Busted

Peter Mavro ran into a spot of bother after raising from the cutoff and getting called by James "Flushy" Dempsey in the small blind. Flushy bet out on every street of the {K-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {4-Spades} {9-Diamonds} board and Mavro called, until the river -- he folded leaving himself just 6,000 and flashing {A-Hearts} {2-Spades} {6-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} for a busted low and a busted straight. Flushy showed him {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {6-Spades}.

A few hands later and Mavro's last went into the middle, and indeed never came back out again -- he is busto.

Divine Grace for Rabbi

Max Pescatori raised, and David Rabbi found himself all in.

Pescatori: {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}
Rabbi: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {3-Hearts} -- although he said he'd only seen the first three of those cards

Board: {9-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {9-Spades}

Amazingly, it was the {3-Hearts} that saved Rabbi, who scooped the pot with nothing more than a pair of threes.

Various disgruntled voices around the table piped up.

"I would have knocked him out."

"Everyone would have."

"Except for the donkey that raised," finished Pescatori.

Pescatori Out on the Plank

Disaster for Max Pescatori. His {4-?} {4-?} {5-?} {A-?} flopped a set of fours, {K-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {3-Spades}. The only problem was that Jeff Tunkel was in there with {K-?} {K-?} ? ? and flopped a set of kings. There was a bet from Pescatori on the turn {J-Spades} that Tunkel raised. Both players checked the {A-Hearts} river. Pescatori was unable to fill his straight draw or his low draw and therefore lost the whole pot. He's down to 12,000 chips.
