Lind's in La-La Land

It's better to have Lind and lost...
It's better to have Lind and lost...
George Lind was down to just 6,000 and he stuck it all in in early position. It folded right around to Meng La in the big blind who shrugged and called, and it was the end of the line for Lind.

Lind: {7-Hearts} {5-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}
La: {K-Spades} {7-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}

Board: {9-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {J-Hearts}

Selbst Busto

Vanessa Selbst - eliminated
Vanessa Selbst - eliminated
Vanessa Selbst made it all the way through the Day 1 field, but fell ten places short of the money here on Day 2. She opened from under the gun with an all-in raise to 6,000. Pat Poels isolated with a late-position reraise to 9,000. Everyone else folded.

Selbst: {2-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {6-Spades}
Poels: {A-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}

A flop of {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} {7-Hearts} left Selbst hoping for her low draw to come in. She missed the {Q-Diamonds} turn and the {4-Spades} river. She's out, and Poels is up to 67,000.

Bubble Approaching

We're only 10 places away from the money now, so we're expecting a little tightening up come the start of next level. Nevertheless, we have a lot of short stacks, so perhaps the carnage will be sooner in coming than we might expect.

Juanda Crippled

Uh oh. It's not looking good for "The Eyes". John Juanda was the only caller after Adrienne Rowsome moved all in preflop for her last 7,300. Juanda showed down {A-Clubs} {2-Spades} {3-Hearts} {k-Clubs}; Rowsome turned up {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {7-Spades} {4-Clubs}.

The flop of {A-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} was grim news for Rowsome. It left her looking for a low card to take the low half of the pot or a jack for a scoop. The {q-Spades} on the turn did not improve Rowsome's hand.

"Jack?" she asked the dealer. It's exactly what he delivered - the {J-Spades} hit the river to give Rowsome the pot and double her up to 18,400. In the process, Juanda, broken to the table about an hour ago, was crippled to 5,000.

"Wow, John," said Mike Matusow. "You're running really well at this table!"

Matusow Feeling Cocky

Look out, world. Mike Matusow is feeling confident and has chips.

"Hey Mark," he called out to Mark Gregorich. "I think I've won more pots in the last twenty minutes than I have the whole World Series."

Indeed, Matusow is up to 100,000 in chips.

The Mouth v. The Eyes

"Don't look at the eyes!"
"Don't look at the eyes!"
It's a battle of Team Full Tilt Pros over on Orange 74. Mike "the Mouth" Matusow took this round over John Juanda.

Matusow raised preflop from middle position and was called by Juanda, who had position. Matusow fired a bet on a flop of {K-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} and Juanda called.

Both players checked the {9-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Diamonds} river. At showdown Matusow turned over unimproved aces, {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} {K-Spades} {5-Spades}. Juanda just mucked his hand.

Juanda is down to 40,000.
