Juanda Triples

A player in the cutoff raised to open the pot. The button reraised, and John Juanda four-bet it from the big blind, leaving himself just a single gray T100 chip. Both opponents called, and Juanda's last chip went into the pot as he drew one card. He'd draw one again on the second draw with his two opponents still betting and calling. On the final round, Juanda stood pat, and one of his opponents would finally fold to a bet.

The live player tabled an eighty-seven, but Juanda had caught his card, turning over the winning 7-6-4-3-2. His seventy-six is worth a triple up to 5,100.

PearlJammer is Number One

Jon "PearlJammer" Turner
Jon "PearlJammer" Turner
Jon "PearlJammer" Turner raised from the cutoff seat, and the button three-bet it. Fu Wong called from the small blind before Turner was able to four-bet raise. Both the button and Wong called the extra bet.

The button would stand pat the rest of the way, but Turner and Wong each needed one card. The action checked to the button, he bet, and both opponents called.

Turner and Wong would draw one again, and they'd let the button keep the betting lead. When he did bet, Wong called, Turner raised, the button folded, and Wong called again, heads up now.

Fu Wong picked one more card while Turner stood pat and tabled number one: 7-5-4-3-2. "Oh, I'm drawing dead," said Wong. He did peek at his card just to make sure, but it was useless. Turner took down that nice pot, moving up to 10,200.

A Pair Isn't Good, But it's Good Enough

Yueqi Zhu raised from the cutoff seat, and the player to his left gave him action.

Both players drew two cards, and Zhu made a bet. His opponent called and drew two again, while Zhu needed just one. He bet again and was called. Both men drew one card on the end, and it went check-check.

Zhu shook his head and tabled 3-3-7-4-2. To his surprise though, his opponent mucked his cards, unable to beat the pair of threes for a low. Zhu is up to 15,500.

What's In a Nam?

A little more than a half hour ago, Nam Le was all in for just 500 chips and behind. He pulled a magical three out of the deck to make number one and triple up to 1,500, and it's been uphill from there. He's now clawed his way back up over 8,000, and as we speak he is raking in another small pot.

Steve Gets a Fossil, Man

Steve Zolotow
Steve Zolotow
We walked up on the hand as two players were all in, one of them being Greg Raymer. Steve Zolotow doesn't have many chips, but he was the covering stack, and he showed up his 8-6-5-4-2 while the other two acted.

The first opponent needed to draw two on the last round, and he ended up with a good low spoiled by a bad ace. Raymer tabled his four good cards: 6-5-3-2, drawing one to stay alive. He squeezed it out, then shrugged and flung a king into the center of the table for an airball.

"Z-o-l-o-t-o-w, right?" Raymer spelled it out to make sure he got it. He signed his fossil with a black marker, handed it to Zolotow with a shake of the hand, and set off into the room to check on the rest of the field.

More than five minutes later, Raymer is still meandering around the room chatting it up.

Mizrachi Sent Home

Robert Mizrachi - Out
Robert Mizrachi - Out
Robert Mizrachi was all in before the draw for his last 600 little chips. He needed to top two opponents, and he drew two-two-one. Both of his opponents were also drawing all the way, though they each took only one card on the final two draws.

In the end, one opponent showed an eighty-seven, and Mizrachi couldn't beat it. He's done.

Deuce on the River?

Justin Smith is now the proud owner of Barry Greenstein's hit book Ace on the River. Oh, you have one too, you say? Well I'd be willing to bet yours isn't signed by the author.

Smith has just KO'd Greenstein, and Barry scratched a little note inside the front cover before handing it over to "Boosted J" and heading out the door.
