durrrr Arrives

Tom 'durrrr' Dwan has taken his seat in the Miranda Room.

After his dad failed yesterday, Dwan will be looking at registering his first cash at this WSOP, after playing a limited schedule.

Klinging to a Dream

Lauren Kling

One player who has caught our attention today is Lauren Kling. After a deep run in the ladies event, followed by another cash a $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event, Kling has the marketing potential to grab a lot more attention with a deep run at the Main Event.

Unfortunately her day is off to a rocky start after we recently spotted her in a big multi-way pot. After being check-raised on the turn, Kling tanked before calling a 2,500-chip bet on the river on a {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{Q-Clubs} board. Her opponent revealed a slow-played {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} as Kling flashed the {7-Diamonds} and mucked. Kling slips to 27,000.

I'm Gonna Get You Sucka

After the flop came {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, we heard another cry of "all in and a call" over at Table #6. Comedian and actor Marlon Wayans, who'd chipped up to about 36,000 in during the course of this first level, had his opponent covered.

Wayans tabled his {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and his opponent turned over {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Not sure how it worked out that five-deuce got to see that flop, but there we were.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and the river the {10-Spades}, and Wayans tumbles back to 16,500.

"I will shake your hand -- that was the worst beat of my life," said Wayans, still shaking his head. The ESPN cameras were there to capture the moment. "Tell the camera you're a donkey," said Wayans to his conqueror.

"I'm a donkey, I'm a donkey," he conceded.

"Tell them you're the worst player ever," added Wayans.

"No, no," his opponent countered with a grin. "The worst is yet to come!"

Salley Rallies

An excellent recovery for John Salley, who's now up to 39,000 after picking up a nice pot with {9-Clubs} {7-Clubs} on a {9-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {7-Spades} {2-Clubs} board. His opponent mucked, and Salley is up to 39,000.

Lodden Thinks (Wrong)

With around 10,000 in the pot, Johnny Lodden mulled over a decision for sometime before firing out 7,100 at the {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{K-Spades} board.

His opponent made the call and Lodden's cards went flying into the muck as his opponent raked in the pot while flashing his {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} to see Lodden slip to 18,400 in chips.

Peyton's Place Just Got Higher

"All in and a call!"

There'd been a raise, a reraise, and another reraise. Then the all in. And then the call. Dennis Peyton had {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}, and his opponent {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Unfortunately for Peyton's opponent, another heart wouldn't help matters, as Peyton had the ace. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river the {5-Clubs}, and Peyton shook his foe's hand as he left the scene.

Peyton is up to 64,000 now -- one of our bigger stacks here in the early going.

Talk About a Cold Deck!

Table 45 just recalled to us a very surreal hand.

Under the gun opened with a raise. A player in early position then put in a 3-bet before the the button put in yet another reraise. The deep starting stacks allowed the UTG player to 5-bet before finally the EP player moved all in!

The button couldn't believe the carnage that was going down as he said he folded {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}. The UTG player also tabled {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and found himself in one of the worst preflop spots possible as his opponent revealed {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}.

Not only had the king outs gone for the UTG player, but both players had the same suits so he also a flush would not help either. With only a straight to save him, the board bricked out rather anticlimactically and the aces held to scoop the pot.

Wrestling Arena

Joe Arena is on around 60,000 after taking down a massive three-way pot that saw one opponent all in on the turn of the {6-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {A-Spades} board and both Arena and the very lovely Torrie Wilson (of sports entertainment fame!) calling.

Wilson gave it up to a 5,000 bet from Arena on the {10-Clubs} river, though, and Arena turned over pocket sevens for a set. Mr. All In mucked, and Arena raked in the chips.

Tran Walks Into The Nuts

Mimi Tran called a raise of 250 from out of the small blind before check-calling 400 on the flop of {6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

When the {9-Clubs} fell on the turn, Tran checked to her opponent to see him fire 400. Tran opted not to call, but to check-raise to 1,200. Her opponent however was having none of it and reraised to 3,200 total with Tran making the call.

The river landed the {3-Clubs} and Tran checked, only to see her opponent move all in for his last 3,825.

Tran insta-called, and then insta-mucked when shown the nuts by her opponent holding {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} to see her slip to 22,100 in chips.

Super Suckout

Michael Alezrah was all in with {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} against his opponent's {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}. The flop came down {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {6-Hearts}, keeping the aces in the lead. The turn brought the {9-Clubs} and Alezrah picked up some straight and flush outs. Wait -- most of his flush outs were no good because his opponent held the {A-Clubs}.

Then, just like that, the river was one of the two clubs that could help him, the {7-Clubs}! Alezrah pulled a four-card straight flush using his {10-Clubs} and scooped the pot to double up.
