Juanda's Out of Luck

John Juanda - eliminated
John Juanda - eliminated

Juanda: {a-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} / {6-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {k-Spades} {3-Clubs} / {7-Hearts}
Amaral: {a-Spades} {a-Clubs} / {7-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {k-Hearts} / {10-Clubs}

A very short-stacked John Juanda got all in on third street with an ace and three diamonds. Unfortunately for Juanda, Chris Amaral had two of the other three aces. Juanda was never able to improve to anything better than a pair of treys. He's out.

Amaral is up to 30,000.

Rheem at 303

Mueller: (X) (X) / {q-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {j-Clubs} {4-Hearts} / (X)
Opponent: (X) (X) / {j-Spades} {3-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} / (X)

Chino Rheem is making his presence known at Greg Mueller's table. He approached as Mueller and another player were involved in a pot. His approach prompted Phil Ivey to say, "Don't worry about that 100 you beat me out of."

"Did you need it?" Rheem asked.

"That's not the point."

"I needed it more than you," said Rheem.

"If I was worried about that I'd quit playing poker," said Ivey.

Meanwhile, Mueller had bet sixth street and was called. He bet again at the river and was called again.

"Two pair," said Mueller. His oponent opened two eights in the hole for trip eights. Mueller rapped the felt, then took some ribbing from Rheem about his play in the hand. He then noticed Ylon Schwartz at the table.

"What's up, my fellow November Niner? Where you been? Sipping drinks on the beach?"

George Lind Hanging Around

George Lind has an incredible online resume, most recently taking down PokerStar's Player of the Series award during the Spring Championship of Online Poker. So far, though, he's been unable to translate that success into the offline poker scene. The PokerStars Team Pro is currently nursing a short stack, waiting for a prime opportunity to collect some more chips.

Contrasting Fortunes

Michael Mizrachi is fresh off his win in Event 2, the $50,000 Poker Player's Championship, and is off to another good start in this event. He has about 105,000 in chips, which may be a tournament-leading stack at this point of the proceedings. At the same table is multiple bracelet winner Erik Seidel. Seidel is down to just 6,000 chips. It doesn't take much imagination to guess where Seidel's chips have gone.

George Lind Doubles

All the chips were in the middle and the cards were flying when we caught George Lind doubling through an opponent. We didn't see the cards, but we did see Lind stacking some chips, though he still only has a few to work with.

That's a Straight Flush, Doyle

Raymer: (X) (X) / {6-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts} / (X)
Opponent: (X) (X) / {j-Spades} {q-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {4-Clubs} / (X)

We picked up a hand involving former Main Event champion Greg Raymer on fourth street. Raymer called a bet from his lone opponent, then called another on fifth street. With Raymer's board looking very connected on sixth street, his opponent slowed down and checked. Raymer bet, then bet when checked to again on the river. His opponent folded, but that didn't stop Raymer from showing his hole cards -- {4-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {j-Diamonds}.

"What is that?" asked Doyle Brunson. "Wow."

Raymer is up to about 60,000.

Devilfish Grumpy at Harman

Jen Harman
Jen Harman

Harman: (X) (X) / {j-Hearts} {q-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {a-Hearts} / (X)
Ulliott: (X) (X) / {3-Hearts} {k-Spades} {4-Hearts} {8-Spades} / (X)

Jen Harman completed third street and was called by David "Devilfish" Ulliott.

"Boy, Devilfish, you're really mad at me huh?" Devilfish said nothing as they went to fourth street. He check-called a bet there, then check-called again on fifth street. By sixth street, Harman had the led and fired a bet into the pot.

"You're getting all the good cards and I'm getting sh*t," said Devilfish. He called anyway, which prompted Harman to bet again on the river.

"Ok, you can have it," Devilfish said. "I started off with a pretty good pair."

Harman mucked her hand and collected the pot to climb to 72,000.

Yuval Bronstein Doesn't Get There

Yuval Bronstein: (X) (X) / {3-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} / (X)
Seat 2: {5-} {10-} / {5-Spades} {2-Hearts} {k-Hearts} {10-Spades} / (X)

Bronstein called his opponent through fourth and fifth streets before they checked on sixth street. The player in Seat 2 made one last bet on seventh street and Bronstein took a while to make a call before mucking upon the sight of his opponent's two pair.
