Steicke's board looked impressive but he needed a tasty river to make a sixty-five low to get past Sagstrom who ended up with a ninety-seven. Steicke already has a cult hero following in the Australasian region, and a deep run in this event would confirm his place on the International poker scene. However he's got some more work to do yet, as he survives on 145,000 chips.
Josh Arieh (X)(X) / / (X)
Chris Ferguson (X)(X) / / (X)
Nikolay Evdakov (X)(X) /
Josh Arieh completed on third street, Chris Ferguson raised, Nikolay Evdakov called and Arieh called as well. Arieh led out on fourth street with the low board, Ferguson raised, Evdakov gave it up and Arieh called. The rest of his chips went in the middle on fifth street and Ferguson looked him up.
Arieh turned over 8-7-4-3-2 on the river but Ferguson improved to a 7-5-4-3-2 low and delivered the knockout blow. He's up to 290,000.
David Steicke is down to his last 65,000 in chips after running into Eli Elezra in a recent Stud hand. Elezra completed the bet before Steicke put in a raise on third. Elezra called, before leading on fourth. Steicke called and took the lead in the betting on fifth, before sixth street was checked. On the river, Steicke checked, Elezra bet and Steicke looked him up.

Oppenheim showed trip nines to win the side pot as Evdakov had a sweat with last card to try and grab half for the low. It wasn't to be and he was sent to the rail. Mizrachi slips to 425,000, while Oppenheim has cracked the 1 million chip mark.
