Hellmuth on Life Support

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

It's not looking good for Phil Hellmuth to add another WSOP cash to his record. He three-bet two hands in a row pre-flop and wound up losing them both. First, his three-bet from the small blind was called by Michael how, Chino Rheem and Oleg Shamardin. Hellmuth folded on the turn of a {j-Spades} {3-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {q-Spades} {4-Diamonds} board. Chow eventually dragged the pot with a single uncalled bet on the river, then remarked that he had the nut-nut. His comment prompted Hellmuth to mutter and wonder how Chow could even have been in the hand pre-flop.

The very next hand, Hellmuth three-bet from the button and remarked, "Watch out, I might be tilting, three-betting two hands in a row." He eventually lost the pot to Jose de Paz, who rivered a better two pair on a board of {q-Spades} {k-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} with {k-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {a-Hearts} {4-Clubs} against Hellmuth's flopped two pair with {a-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {4-Spades} {k-Clubs}. The predictable Hellmuthian rage followed.

Hellmuth has 10,000.
