It's Over - Until Tomorrow

Ivey is still lurking.
Ivey is still lurking.

Day 2 is in the books. Just 116 players started the day, all with hopes of making it into the money and bagging and tagging their chips at the end of play to make it on to the third and final day of Event #33: $2,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em/Omaha.

Justin Smith started the day as the chip leader but would not maintain that lead and ultimately fell more than half way through the day. That may have had something to do with Round 2 of the $10,000 Heads Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship that had him occupied through a level or two. Phil Ivey and Victor Ramdin found themselves pitted against each other as well in Round 2 of the $10,000 HU Championship, but Ivey took care of that quickly.

Forty-five players made the money today taking home at least $5,244. Those that will have to settle for a slightly smaller payday than the $260,517 first place prize include, Jeffrey Lisandro, Steve Zolotow, Ross Boatman, and Steven van Zadelhoff.

Just 14 players remained at the end of play. Jose-Luis Velador will come back to Day 3 with the chip lead after bagging 455,000 tonight. David Chiu, Phil Ivey, Victor Ramdin, and Kevin MacPhee are still in the hunt for WSOP gold and the first place prize as well. We'll be back at 3 p.m. local time to play down to a winner. Be sure to be locked here as we bring you all the action.
