Demjan Can't Push Around Ivey

Both Phil Ivey and Sandor Demjan saw the flop of {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} putting in 1,500 each. After the flop, Demjan bet 5,000 and Ivey made the call.

The turn brought the {J-Hearts} and Demjan fired 20,000. Ivey called again after taking some time to think about it. The river then completed the board with the {A-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Demjan held the {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, but was beat when Ivey tabled the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a better kicker. Demjan dropped back to 135,000 while Ivey increased to 101,000.
