Bonkowski Busts Torresola

Javier Torresola was left with just one bet with the board reading {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and got it in. Tyler Bonkowski called having him at risk:

Showdown
Torresola: {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Bonkowski: {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The {2-Clubs} on the turn gave Torresola four more outs to a wheel, but the {k-Clubs} bricked on the river eliminating him from the tournament. Bonkowski's nine played, and he recorded the knockout chipping up to 120,000.

The board read {6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} when we reached Table 314. Daniel Didech put in one of his last two bets and Sijbrand Maal called.

The turn brought the {4-Hearts} and Didech committed his last chips. Maal called.

Showdown
Didech: {q-Spades}{8-Spades}
Maal: {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Didech needed a five or an eight to survive, but the suicide king ({k-Hearts}) on the river was neither. He is eliminated, and Maal is up to 115,000 chips.

Steicke in the Mud

After just chipping up a bit, David Steicke is now eliminated from Event #53.

We missed the hand in question, but we do know the meat and potatoes about it. Terrence Chan busted him with {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} on a {k-}{10-} X board. Steicke held {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and could not improve.

Steicke will have to settle with $4,135 while Chan has his eyes on a second final table.
