Chan Straightens Out

The board was showing {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} when we walked up to the table. Matthew Kelly and Terrence Chan checked to Mitch Schock who bet. Both Kelly and Chan made the call and the three went to the river.

The {9-Hearts} came on the turn. Kelly checked, as did Chan. Schock bet. Kelly folded and Chan made the call.

On the {j-Hearts} turn, both players checked and Chan turned over {9-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a straight to take the pot.

Chipping Up Little by Little

Jonathan Little made it two bets from the button and Daniel Idema made the call from the big blind.

The flop came down {7-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Idema checked to Little who slid out a bet. Idema made it two bets and Little made the call.

The {10-Hearts} came on the turn and both players checked.

On the {8-Spades} river, Little bet, Idema raised, and Little called.

Little showed {9-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a straight to take the pot.

Sabic Stumbles, Busts

Brian Tate raised from the cutoff and Sebastien Sabic re-raised with the button. The blinds released and Tate called.

The dealer fanned {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Tate check-called a bet from Sabic.

Both players checked the {3-Diamonds} on the turn, but after the {10-Hearts} rivered Tate led into Sabic. Sabic folded, leaving himself with only 8,500 chips.

The very next hand Sabic was all in with {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Feming Chan had him at risk with {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

Chan only made quads with the {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{5-Hearts} board, eliminating Sabic from the tournament.

McGowan's McGrowin

Robert Beveridge led from the small blind with the board reading {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Joseph McGowan called with the button and the turn brought the {4-Diamonds}. Beveridge slowed down, check-calling a bet from McGowan.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and Beveridge led out. McGowan raised however, forcing Beveridge to muck his hand.

Beveridge slipped to 103,000 chips while McGowan grew his stack to 124,000.

Ciao Giang

The flop read {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} when Chau Giang put in his last bet. Both Gabriel Walls and Daniel Idema had him at risk, and the dealer burned and turned the {10-Diamonds}.

Walls checked to Idema who bet into a dry side-pot. Walls called, and both players checked the {4-Clubs} on the river.

Walls opened {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens, but they were no good against Idema's {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}; a pair of aces. Giang mucked his hand and is out of the tournament.
