Sklansky Out

David Sklansky
David Sklansky

David Sklansky began the day with a below average stack, and within the first 20 minutes of play today has met a swift end.

Sklansky opened with a raise to 1,500, was met with a reraise from an opponent, reshoved all in for his remaining 10,000 or so, and was called. Sklansky showed {Q-}{Q-} and his opponent {A-}{K-}.

The flop came {A-}{A-}-X, and no queen came to save Sklansky.

Boeree in the Blinds

A blind-vs.-battle just now involving Liv Boeree. The flop come {4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, Boeree's opponent checked, she bet 700, and her opponent called. The turn was the {A-Clubs}. Again Boeree's opponent checked, she bet 1,300 this time, and again got the call.

The river brought the {Q-Spades} and another check from the small blind. Boeree bet 3,500, and her opponent folded. The 2010 EPT San Remo winner showed her {8-Spades}{2-Spades} as she dragged the pot.

Boeree has 19,500 now.

And So It Begins

A player in middle position made a standard opening raise, then Michael Woods reraised all in behind him. Chris Klodnicki was next to act, and after getting a count on Woods' raise -- about 12,000 -- Klodnicki said he was reraising over the top for his stack, too. The others, including the original raiser, folded, and the two remaining players showed their cards:

Woods {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Klodnicki {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades}... {4-Hearts}. That river gave Woods a straight, and doubled him to about 25,000. Klodnicki's Day 2 starts unpleasantly, but he's still got about 24,000.
