Swidler Scores Easy Double Up

Level 1 : 200/400, 50 ante

We caught this hand with Carter Swidler and Yosuke Sekiya as the board had already been dealt out. According to the players at the table, the two got in a raising war preflop, with all of the money getting in with Swidler holding {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} and Sekiya holding a dominated {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The board never brought a sweat, as it ran out {2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Swidler took the chips to double up to around 110,000. Sekiya is still very much in it, as he dropped to just 22,000.

The Blair Not So Rich Project

Level 1 : 200/400, 50 ante
Blair Hinkle
Blair Hinkle

Jim Rumptz was tanking, on the river of an {8-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} he had checked and Blair Hinkle had set him all in. Rumptz finally decided to make the call and Hinkle showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for second pair that had been turned into a bluff, but Rumptz flipped {10-Spades}{9-Spades} for the flopped straight which allowed him to pick up the pot. Hinkle dropped back down to his starting stack while Rumptz is back up to about 50,000.

Ramdin Running Over His Table

Level 1 : 200/400, 50 ante

Victor Ramdin is running hot today, and given his aggressive style, that could spell doom for his table. After cracking Amit Mahkija's aces earlier at the table, Ramdin just won another big pot, knocking out Brandon Wong. We missed the action, but the two players got the money in on a cooler type flop for Wong. The board read {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}, and Wong had two overs and a flush draw with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. However, his pair outs were voided by Ramdin's {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for a flopped set. The board didn't provide a third spade, as it came {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, giving Ramdin a stack of around 130,000 already.

Webber Flushed With Success

Level 1 : 200/400, 50 ante

In a three way flop of {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} between Andrew St. Jean, Keith Donovan and Joseph Webber, it was checked to the latter who bet 2,000 but both other players called to see the {J-Diamonds} turn which was checked around. The {6-Clubs} came on the river, St. Jean checked, Donovan bet 6,100 and Webber called, St.Jean getting out of the way.

Donovan turned over a Nine-high flush but Webber flipped {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a better flush to boost his stack to 50,000.

Good Karma in Poker?

Level 2 : 300/600, 75 ante

Earlier we reported that Amit Mahkija had been crippled when his aces fell to Victor Ramdin's flopped straight. Well after doubling up with aces, Mahkija just came from behind to score another double up against Valdemar Kwaysser. The two got the money in preflop, and Mahkija was in a dominated position.

Mahkija: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Kwaysser: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The flop was beautiful for Mahkija as it came out {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}, giving him a set. Kwaysser needed one of the two sevens left in the deck, but didn't get it as it came {8-Diamonds} and {5-Hearts}. Mahkija doubled up to around 15,500, and is slowly fighting his way back into the table.

Smith Shatters Glass On River

Level 2 : 300/600, 75 ante

We came to table 285 as the board read {10-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Spades}, and Robert Smith had put himself all in for 14,800. Andrew Glass thought for a few seconds before calling, and he had Smith in bad shape.

Glass: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Smith: {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Smith needed an ace, nine, or seven on the river to survive, and he got just that, as it came the {a-Diamonds}. Smith doubled up to around 52,000, while Glass dropped to around 10,000.
