Almost Set to Go

Welcome back to the Rio for Day 3 of the $25,000 Heads-Up Championship.

A tidy 128 players put up the initial buyin, and that number has been whittled to just eight over the course of four rounds. The list of players who are down $25,000 already this summer is an impressive one smattered with pros like David Williams, Daniel Negreanu, Huck Seed, Jason Mercier, ElkY, Michael Mizrachi, and about a hundred others. We've already had eight payout slips cashed last night, and Tom Dwan was the last man to take the walk to the payout desk after falling to Gus Hansen.

Our eight players are listed below, and the matches figure to be great ones to watch.

We're about fifteen minutes from our start time, but we're still not exactly sure of the schedule. The initial plan was to play just one round today, but the staff seems to be gunning for a second round this evening. We'll update that info as soon as we receive some news.

For now, don't wander too far. The restart and the round of eight is just a few minutes away.
