Justin "Boosted J" Smith was in the small blind while Barry Greenstein was in the big. The latter was all in for his last 80,000 holding against the of Smith. While he was behind, the flop was kind to Greenstein, giving him a flush draw. The turn gave him that flush and assured his double.
A few hands later, Greenstein raised from the hijack only to have Daniel Idema reraise from the button. Greenstein called all in and was in a dominating position.
Greenstein:
Idema:
The board ran out a clean and Greenstein double yet again.
It was folded around to a severely short-stacked Justin Smith in the small blind who moved all in. Barry Greenstein called in the big with a chance to take out the player who he had just doubled through twice before.
Greenstein:
Smith:
The flop gave Smith an inside-straight draw to go along with his two live cards. The turn and river were of no help to Smith however and he was eliminated from the tournament.
Steve Landfish raised from the cutoff and received a call from Daniel Idema in the big blind. It went check-bet-raise-call on the flop, which was followed by a bet and call on the turn. The same action occurred on the river and Idema showed for a flopped two pair. Landfish was clearly frustrated as he tossed his cards in the muck, leaving himself 580,000 behind.
In the very next hand, Landfish raised from the cutoff and was met with a three-bet from Barry Greenstein in the cutoff. The blinds folded, Landfish four-bet, and Greenstein made the call. Landfish bet the flop, Greenstein just called, and the dealer burned and turned the .
Again Landfish bet and Greenstein called off his last 60,000. Greenstein showed for the flopped flush, while Landfish was in need of a deuce or seven with his . The river was close to a deuce, but not close enough. Landfish was left with just 310,000 after the hand.
An extremely short-stacked Steve Landfish raised in the cutoff and Matthew Gallin three-bet from the small blind. Landfish called all in and was at risk but in dominating position.
Landfish:
Gallin:
The board ran out and was clean for Landfish to double up.
We found Barry Greenstein all in and at risk again Matthew Gallin on the flop.
Gallin:
Greenstein:
Greenstein, who famously signs a copy of his book, ‘Ace on the River’, to give to the opponent who busts him in each tournament, stood up from his chair and was about to sign and give Gallin his copy.
The turn was the though and Greenstein got the ace that he needed, albeit on the turn to storm into the lead. The river came the to double Greenstein up who sat back down with his book.
It has been an up-and-down day for Barry Greenstein. Just now he raised under the gun only to have Daniel Idema three-bet from the button. The blinds folded, Greenstein made the call, and the flop fell .
Greenstein proceeded to check-raise Idema, who ended up making the call. When the was put out on the turn, Greenstein bet all in for 80,000, Idema called, and the cards were turned on their back.
Greenstein:
Idema:
The river changed nothing and Greenstein doubled on the hand.
Daniel Idema raised in the cutoff and Steve Landfish three-bet from the small blind. Idema raised once more which put Landfish all in who called.
Landfish:
Idema:
Landfish was in good shape to double up and the was clean although it gave Idema some backdoor straight and flush outs to go along with the two remaining jacks. The on the turn gave Idema an open-ended straight draw and he could now eliminate Landfish with any seven, jack or queen. The river was the though and Landfish survived as Idema doubled up another short-stack.
